have they gone through august yet do you think?
Hard to say for sure, looks like they've given out some interviews to August and later. Almost everyone in the big R wave was July submissions though.

Early interviewers (e.g. august) when do we hear back? friday of this week?

Based on the past 5 years, decisions have gone out on the 3rd Friday of December (so the 19th this year). Does anyone know if they are releasing scholarships on the phone like they did in previous years? I think I remember them saying something about scholarships being given in march this year or something like that on my interview day

I also feel like I remember hearing that but am unsure. Maybe they were talking about financial aid packages in general but not scholarships.

how much do we think interview performace matters? it feels like i bombed my interveiw!

I thought that merit scholarships (either the 75% or 100% tuition award) are given over the phone upon acceptance, but all other scholarships, including need-based, come later

They wont tell us on friday if we are deferred to February right? If we dont get a phone call we are just moved to the feb admissions date?

yes thats what it seems like. it seems like last year they were pretty late on sending the official letters/emails to the accepted applicants

this was my impression, hopefully true

Definitely the Kira portion. 10 sec to think of a response and then a minute to talk to urself on the camera was so rough
That part was so bad, I cringed every answer I gave...hoping the faculty interview carried more weight because I felt so good about that one...

It's hard to say.

This is total speculation. but here's my guess. It matters but doesn't outweigh other parts of the application. I say this because they only have one faculty interview. If they cared a lot about the interview, I imagine that they would try to have multiple to eliminate bias.

agree with this. also the interview was totally laid back, the guy was basically asking me "what can i do to get you to come here" - not sure if this was the experience of other people too

100%^^

There's also so many variables at play that they can't care TOO much about the interview. Adcoms try to balance male/female ratio, gap year/years/ trad applcant ratios, advanced degrees or not, ofc GPAs and MCATs, how many applicants for each region/state, rural/urban backgrounds, financial backgrounds, etc

certainly interview performance matters but your other accomplishments and how that falls into their interview pool matter a lot too. a minor difference in interview performance may be irrelevant if you come from rural South Dakota or something.

bro i got cut off mid sentence for one, the other 3 were fine. faculty interviewer spent more time talking in our interview which idk is a good thing or not (he was a pretty stoic guy). but he seemed nice and responded to my thank you note and seemed enthusiastic about the interview. so we'll see lol

Kira was so ahh that I complained about it in the feedback survey lmao

Manifesting that A on friday. this is my dream school behind yale. please let me live in nashville for the next 4-5 years

wait so if u dont get accepted tomorrow, do u just not get a phone call and get ghosted?

Vanderbilt has been incredibly transparent this whole process so maybe they won’t ghost you. Certainly you could call them near the end of the day

yeah they will just kinda ghost you until they accept you or waitlist you :/ the way they do it if you dont get a call tomorrow is that they will just re-evaluate you for the feb acceptance pool. if you dont get a call in feb you are re-evaluated in march. if you dont get a call in march you get waitlisted. hopefully we all get calls tomorrow!
