wow, almost 3000 more apps than last year, and just 165 more interviews to give out if they give the same amount as last year

This is the most number of applicants they've had in history. Another school I called said they also received a record number of applications this year. I wonder what the reason could be for so many applications. I think with more applications the more competitive getting into medical school will become and schools average MCAT will shoot up
very confused. sooo many applications this year, so many interviews already and it’s only october. so many of us waiting for decisions. 148 non EDP A’s sent out on thursday it looks like. i wonder when the rest of us will hear. is it WL for all of us and they drag us along the cycle since they have soo many interviews.

no one knows just keep going and we'll see what happens
AAMC hasn't published the total number of applicants for this year's cycle, there many be more individuals applying, but equally likely each applicant is applying to a greater number of schools.

they have 300 seats and usually give 6-700 offers if im not mistaken?

ya usually around 650 A’s. they’ve already given 176. probably another 475 A’s still left to give. not sure how many more II they’re gonna give out this year tho

Yes I just wonder if they’re gonna hold us and compare us with all the October interviews at this point.

I interviewed 8/15 and nothing
People go back to school during a recession. Also, as someone already said, we do not know if more applicants are present (which I would imagine is true due to delays in verification on primaries), but have to wait for AAMC to publish the data. We aren't RFK, see correlation, and let the brain worm do the talking.

I called another school today from which I was supposed to hear back today, turns out the AWS server crash is really messing with sending out decisions. Wayne uses the same portal, so I'm assuming that'll need to be fixed before we hear back.
The AWS server thing today is affecting a lot of places apparently - Massive Amazon outage takes down Venmo, Snapchat, Alexa, Reddit and much of the internet – all the latest AWS updates live
Wouldn’t be shocked if this is a multi week thing. Uncharted territory at this point.

Looks like the outages are fixed now according to that article. Wayne, time to let us in. I will legally change my name to Wayne.
Dean just resigned, im sure there are administrative challenges right now. Also there's the rumor the AWS crash isnt helping. Some of the services at my job still don't work. That's probably just my denial and delulu though.

He was put on leave (for no public reason) by the President of the whole school who oversees undergrad, grad, med, etc. But she was just forced out recently and he was brought back
They were still correct. Wayne has now gone through three dean changes in the last two months. Sakr was placed on leave, interim Rosenberg took over a month before resigning himself two weeks ago after seeing how Sakr was treated, and now Sakr has been reinstated following the presidents departure. Logistically speaking, that merry go round is still going to have effects even though Sakr is back.

How many seats do they have in their class?! That's nuts. The post-II WL/R waves must be huge.
319 i think, but they usually send out 600-700 acceptances.
Probably to CYA on the 15th for their highest rated apps if i were to guess. Priority was probably to release acceptances, then do x y z, then release either another wave or wait lists.

there is no percentage on MSAR, but the math of the last year data does not add up to it being 52% lol

MSAR does not publish students accepted. They publish number of applications, number of interviews, and number of matriculants.
Number of matriculants is not the same as offers of acceptance.
