Would like an opinion, I don't want to think I blew my chances at med school, but what can I do to at least help my current state?
I'm in my junior year right now, chemistry major. Currently have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 right now, and a science GPA of of around 2.66. Last semester I got a 3.5cGPA, but the science GPAs were B+ for OChem and B- for Physics. Currently I'm taking physical chemistry and biochem.
So clearly I'm not off to a really good start, but from last year I learned how to study better and managed to pull off a 3.5.
Not really sure what I should do now, aside from continuing my extra curriculars and trying to do an upward trend. Planning to do a directed study my senior year, and working as an EMT sometime next year. I've already been volunteering with my school's emergency medical services since freshman year. With such a low GPA right now should I be considering doing an SMP or Post Bac? What should I be doing to increase my chances..

Let me start off by saying, no, you have not blown your chances at med school. So breathe.

cGPA 3.0 and sGPA 2.66

Both are pretty low to be even competitive for medical school. Generally, your cGPA and sGPA should be in range with each other when applying. For medical school, you'd usually want these GPAs to be well above 3.0+.
I'd suggest continuing doing well in all your courses and report what your GPA is after your senior year. Retake courses that you know you can do better in and really work on getting those numbers up. Keep improving on yourself to learn how to study better and more efficiently. It's only your junior year if by senior year you have not raised your GPAs to at least average, I'd consider post-bac if you really want to go into med school. If you on take the MCAT and get a very good score that is well above average, you might have a shot at applying for med school early with a low/decent GPA. Like I said earlier, you have not blown any chances to go into med school. Just work harder and you will get where you want to be.

Good luck to you.

Maintain the solid academic performance. Upward trends are always good. But you need to start aceing things from now on.

Reinvent yourself, obviously you aren't doing everything you can to prepare for tests etc. Not trying to be Debbie Downer, but if undergrad has you stumped, med school will be really painful if you do manage to get in.

No more Bs. Strive for all As. With a 2.66 sGPA you aren’t competitive for MD or DO. To make matters worse you probably have big gaps in knowledge that will impact your MCAT scores. Think about delaying graduation. This way you’ll be able to take additional classes that might benefit your GPAs. See where you are after you graduate and plan then. Maybe a DIY post bac or even a SMP would be an option. I wouldn’t worry about ECs now because you really have to worry about your grades. You will be taking a few gap years so you can buff up your ECs during that time. You have a long road ahead of you but last semester showed you have the ability so just keep getting better. (A few semesters of 3.5 won’t help . You need >3.7 from now on.) And as many people on here say “always have a Plan B.”
