Hi,
I am a 21yr old Asian male, Arkansas resident.
I would like to know where, if anywhere, I have a solid chance at an MD school. I am not opposed to DO schools but would prefer MD.
MCAT: overall 505
Chem/Phys: 126
CARS: 128
BIO: 123
PSYCH: 128
Will my low Bio section be a deal breaker? Not sure what happened here, I was consistently scoring 127 or 128 on that section in practices.
I know my GPA is on the low side as well. Total GPA: 3.62, Science GPA: 3.53
I'm a biology/anthropology double major, Spanish minor.
Spent a summer abroad in Spain, as well as a summer in Tanzania doing biology research and just completed a summer in Thailand doing research.
I've done around 250 hours of research in the anthropology department and around 100 hours in biomedical engineering research as well. No publications yet.
100 clinical/medical volunteer hours
200+ non-medical related volunteer hours
200+ shadowing hours
Involved in several clubs and hold officer positions.
I'm applying to UAMS. Do I have any other options?
