Why Jefferson, Georgetown, and Tufts? I wanted to apply to those schools but didn't think my stats were good enough

Is there a general rule of thumb in terms of stats and URM?
No, but medical schools and their affiliated hospitals desire future physicians who can relate to their patient population. Medical schools in cities with large African American populations try to recruit African American applicants and schools in areas with large Hispanic populations try to recruit Hispanic applicants who are fluent in Spanish.
