do i still have a chance for d.o if i have these 3 w's this semester if i show an upwards trend to senior year(when i'm applying) , i called schools(m.d) and they said if its only one semester its ok , but they basically look at overall gpa ? but i don't know

I had 4-5 Ws when I applied and was never questioned about them. A few (2) were in classes I dropped when I changed majors, though, and another was in a lab.

I really don't think it's that big of a deal.

LOL That's good to know! I had a W for Step Aerobics and Intro to Philosophy, and for some weird reason I was worried about it. 🙂

I have a few W's and they don't seem to care. I guess they would if you have a ton of them, enough to look suspicious. I have found that all they care about are the following in this order: GPA, MCAT, GPA, GPA, GPA, GPA, GPA, GPA, MCAT, GPA, direct patient contact, GPA, and maybe MCAT.
I think everyone has at least a couple of W's. It's part of undergrad. They know that there are legitimate reasons for dropping. Sometimes you get bad instructors. I panicked when I was a freshman and I got a BIO I instructor who was an absolute psychopath. I was actually getting 100% + bonus points in the class, but I could see that I was not going to make it through the semester. I called the Admissions Dept at KCOM, and they said drop the class.

I had a few W's as well. Never asked about them in any interviews.
