4.0 and still rejected

I am totally rolling my eyes at this thread. Bwah.

for effing reals! 👍

and rolling your eyes is a big problem, because my grandma told me if you roll your eye too much they will get stuck that way, we need to warn others of EERS (excessive eye rolling syndrome) before it becomes an epidemic, and since my grandma said it it has to be true

I read all these posts and hate to be admitting this but it happened to me. I applied this year with a 3.9 (for every calculated GPA) to three separate schools. I had a fair amount of experience and obviously did not think getting in was guaranteed but also did not expect to be looking for what to do until I apply again! I was rejected from two schools and waitlisted at another. I am blaming it on my pathetic GRE score but I freakin took that test three times and studied tons I just SUCK at tests like that. So people GPA is not everything and will not guarantee you a spot! Look at every aspect and do your best to make everything about you irresistible lol. Because my experience with applying this year was nothing less than a giant...FAIL. Even with a 3.9. (This is the first time I have admitted this to myself since I found out Vet School is likely not happening for me this Fall) 🙁

im sorry to hear this happened to you, but at the same time it is reassuring to me because i had a very similar experience this year. if i learned anything from this application cycle it is that nothing guarantees you a spot in a class. i have worked my ass off to get my 3.7 and have spent thousands of hours in clinics. i even researched schools to make sure that i fell with in their averages, and still was rejected once and waitlisted 4 times, not a no but still sucks since i wasn't near the top of any of them and now they are all full 🙁

Thanks. I know I was not the only one that had that happen! I did get called off a waitlist though so I am happy with how it turned out! I know how much it sucks to feel like you have worked so hard to be the total package and somehow still fall short in the adcoms eyes. Keep your head up and don't take it personally! There are so many people out there applying that all you can do is your best and everything will work out in the end. I really hope you get called off one of your waitlists soon!
