4th year rotation

Im having difficulty securing 4th year elective rotations at my top 2 residency sites do to the timeframes of when there own med students register and mine and deadlines etc. Is it ESSENTIAL to do a rotation at your intended residency hospital for OB? If i cant manage to get a 4th year rot there am I at a large disadvantadge for getting a residency spot next fall? Ive read that rotating with the current residents is huge as they vote on who comes in next year. any help please

It will not hurt your chances of getting into a program if you do not do an elective at the institution. If you have a good record, interview well, then that is what you should concern yourself with when you begin interviewing.
