Hi Everyone!

I have 10 days left until my test and have made one pass through all the material, except a few chapters of neuro which I am going to finish today. My strategy is to try to finish USMLE world (about 50% done) and probably ditch kaplan altogether, having only completed about 50%. It seems the general consensus on this board is kaplan is not as helpful as USMLE world, right? So that, and cram in as much pharm/micro as I possibly can before the test.

Also, I took NBME form 2 today and got a score that I definitely think was WAY overestimated (740/260). Has anyone else had this problem (ie gotten lucky on one form and dropped a lot on another or on the actual test)? My USMLE World scores are in the upper 70's/low 80's recently. I will take another NBME, but don't want to "waste" one just to see if that score was a fluke without reviewing material first, so I will prob do it Monday, but wanted to see what other people's experience was.

Haven't taken the actual test, so can't answer that question. Your USMLEWorld scores sound great, though, so I would think you are fairly well-prepared for the monster and I would guess your NBME was not a fluke. That being said, a 260 is a very high score and I get the feeling that even a few questions make a difference at that level of scoring (so things can fluctuate a few points fairly easily). If I were you I wouldn't take another NBME. You know you are in good shape, if you take another one you risk shaking your confidence - just my opinion.

I've got 7 days before my test and I'm finishing up my first pass today. I'm shoring up some weaknesses (from form 2) over the next few days as well as cramming some high yield Anatomy and Embryo and reviewing FA. Day before is pharm+micro until I puke.

What book are you using to cram anatomy?

Thanks for your responses! I agree that a few questions on the high end makes a difference between a 240-260, so I'm not going to count on doing near that well.

I also just finished up my first pass, so now I'm going to go back through my annotated first aid and try to put all the biochem micro, and pharm back in my head.

Good luck on your tests!
