hey everyone,

first year med students want to start a "wilderness medicine" club. among all the "certifications" and experience i have, i ask you guys: what is the authoritative organization/membership in Emergency Outdoor medicine?

we are group of people who are slowly and surely deciding on this as career paths. . . nothing like book after book, page after page to make you REALLY contemplate outdoor career activities.

thanks everyone.

My class started a wilderness medicine club at school last year.

That's odd, since my class started one the year before that.

Details, details....

I was under the impression that a classmate of mine, who was the president of the organization last year, was the founder, but I suppose it's not really that important.

Emedicine has a page on wilderness/travel medicine that lists some additional resources.
