A weird question, but it would help a lot....

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I'm new to the forums, but so far I haven't seen anyone give out personal/contact information. If you check out one of the threads below called "surgical research", you could probably follow a similar process. Search your local doctors and start sending out emails.

But, in my opinion, if you have in-depth questions, you aren't going to get a thorough email response from most physicians if they have never met you before. Even ones that know you sometimes just don't have the time to respond with long emails. I would highly recommend that you start volunteering/shadowing at a local hospital, practice or clinic. I think you will get much better responses from physicians in person and they will see that you are truly interested in the profession since you are making the commitment to volunteer. I've found that I've gotten the best information from med students/residents/attendings while in person and volunteering.

You are more likely to succeed with the following methods.

1. Use the search function to see if a similar question has been asked before.
2. Start a new thread asking your questions.
3. Ask a doctor you know IRL.

Or you could just go to a forum where you see that a physician has posted and ask your questions there?

i'm really curious what these "detailed questions" are? can you give us topics at least. also i doubt any doctor would waste their time answering "detailed" questions from a pre-med who they don't know and have never met. you can try asking the questions here though and maybe a med student, resident or attending will answer them but more likely the thread will get locked because i'm assuming your looking for homework help.
