AAMC FL#3 505....

Just took AAMC FL #3. Got a 505 (126,126,125,128). I've gone 497 (FL #1) and 501 (FL#2).

My test is 3 weeks out (4/30). Is 3 weeks enough time to get to a 509-512 range? Obviously there are no guarantees, but I really want to walk into the testing center confident I can score 509+. I could postpone to 5/14 with no logistical problems.

Any input is appreciated!

I don’t think you have enough time to raise your MCAT score that high. Your average is a 501 so you’re 8 points away from where you want to be with only 3 weeks left. I would postpone.

Why not? You've increased 4 points from each of your first two FLs. 505+4=509! Also remember that the tests have a +/- 2 point confidence band. Being able to take it on 4/30 would be advantageous for you because it would enable you to have your score right around the time AMCAS application submissions begin on 5/27.

Why not keeping working for another two weeks and take FL 4 the weekend of 4/24 before making a decision? TBH, two weeks one way or the other should not make a material difference in your final score, but you do need to be confident and comfortable, and if 5/14 makes you happy, it also won't disrupt your entire cycle.

Trust your FL average. Take the FL4 and see if the average puts you around 510. Otherwise, postpone it.

Also yeah 3 weeks isnt enough time i think.
