Hi, I had a quick question regarding aamc gpa calculation...I took both semesters of physics and physics lab at my undergraduate institution the summer after my sophomore year. My school does not count the grades I received in these classes towards my gpa or science gpa. I know aamc will count these towards calculating the science gpa...does anyone know if they will count the grades I recieved in these summer courses towards my overall undergraduate gpa, because I took the course at my own college??? Thanks.

huh? This answer should cover whatever your question is:

You need to send transcripts for EVERY college or university class that you took for credit (even if it was a high school concurrent enrollment, or even if you just did it for fun) no matter where it was done. These will all be counted in your GPA.

And when I say "for credit" I don't mean "counting toward your major" or "kinda accepted by my school" or "nobody knows about it." Any course you took where you were assigned a grade and the institution assigned some credit to it.

Did that help?

I'm a little boggled by your question too. But the bottom line is that they'll count any grade you got in a college-level class no matter where you took it or when. It doesn't matter if your main undergrad college didn't count the grades for your undergrad gpa.

For example, I went to one school for undergrad, but took a year of classes my junior year at another college. None of the junior year class grades were counted in my primary undergrad transcript or gpa. I just got "credit" for the classes, but no grades. AMCAS doesn't care. They require a transcript from both schools, and will count the grades from my junior year the same as my grades from my primary undergrad. It all gets figured into your undergrad gpa calculation.

Does that help?

just call amcas.
