hello guys, I just wondering have u guys ever heard this program? Do you think I should dish out my cash to let some professional people to handle my apps for pharmacy school?

Here is their description:" Admissions Consulting is a service where we match you up with an admissions insider (someone who has worked, or is working for the admissions office) to help guide you through the admissions process, and to provide your with an insider's perspective for each step of the admissions process. The consultants will work with you to polish and refine your application essays. They'll also help you with selecting schools, and preparing for interviews, or anything that relates to the admissions process. "

They charge 3hrs for $599, it is kinda expensive, but if it can gets me to the school I want, I will be more than happy to pay for it.

Any thoughts?

Never heard of it. Sounds sketchy. I'd never shell out the cash for it.

On the bright side, I have heard of a place that's pretty good about answering your questions about schools, the application process, and even has people willing to proofread your personal statement. It's like some kind of forum, and it's totally free... anyone else know what I'm talking about?

Best consulting program would be right here, on the forums. You can send the $599 check to SDN when you're done

I've heard of it, but don't do it! You'll end up spending more than $599 because you'll need more than 3 hours to complete your applications. I mean entering your courses on Pharmcas alone can be very tiring!

ugh, my dad bought me that damn car, but I have to pay for all these Kaplan PCAT course and this consulting program... >.<

They do a similar thing for law school.

For law school, it might be worth it, but the admissions process for pharmacy school is so transparent and easy to go through, it's a complete waste.

Waste of money. It's not like they'll be able to go back and change your grades or get your extra sparkling LORs. Best case scenario they help you with essays and interview.

Though if you get your Dad to buy an R8 for the Admissions Officer of your college of choice, that might help a bit also

You should be able to do your own application, and prepare your own interview, why? because you will have to learn soon or later that you need to grow up and do things on your own.

You should really check out the SDN interview guides for the school you are looking into.

For free.

Is the admissions counselor in pharmacy school? Does he/she offer a refund if you don't get in? You should call and ask them how extensive their experience really is with pharmacy admissions.

I personally don't trust Kaplan for test prep (except for the PCAT book they sell in the store). They're owned by the Washington Post and I'm pretty sure they love using Kaplan as their cash cow since the print news business is dying and their ad revenues aren't as strong online or in print as they once were. But that's just my theory. I heard two of their Kaplan U campuses (this is their for profit university, not their test prep business) got shut down by the GAO after their admissions counselors lied about how the school is accredited. Profit without stellar product seems to be their motto so I don't trust anything Kaplan runs.

LOL, wow, there's a lot of fascinating information in that one.

Owned by the Washington Post? :eyebrow:
