Hi everyone,

I am a 6th gap year premed and I am excited to finally apply for this upcoming cycle and I take the MCAT this early May,

I’m hoping to understand where I stand with *if needing to reschedule the MCAT, what the last absolute date I can schedule is.

I am juggling a few things atm, although staying on top of studying, and so what would be the last date for me if I need to reschedule where I would still some what have the early bird advantage for DO schools?

I do have relearning to do and have 3 months left, I am making good headway with content but still have plenty to cover,
With 1.5 more months for content prep and 1.5 more months for practice.
(Is that good enough amount of time for practice?)

I need to do pretty good here with a
3.2 cGPA, 3.2sGPA

(^includes the boost from my recent self directed postbac of 20+ credits of 4.0 (mix of 100,200,400 lvl science classes))

And so what would be considered a good MCAT for DO schools given my GPA?

I have plenty of clinical hours, and have ECs and research I’m definitely happy with.

Thanks!

I’d say towards the last week in May or so if you want to be ready for this cycle. Now the downside to that is if you bomb it you’re taking another gap year. But I think the typical advice of “take it in March or April so you can retake if needed” is bad anyway
