Academic vs community pay nowadays

How much is university academic HemOnc making these days compared to community? Mid-career community HemOnc trying to explore if academics is better for me going forward. I heard the gap is closing these days and there is not much of a difference. Is this really the case? Just wondering if the pay is almost close to what community HemOncs make or is the difference still quite significant? Thank you for your input and appreciate your time.

I can comment on the local market and say that while the gap is closing somewhat, the chasm is still vast.

Thank you. Is the difference like 10 or 20%? Or more like 50%? If the difference is like >200K, I don't think I would consider it worth switching.

The data I've seen puts the national average for academics around 350k and nonacademic around 600k. So, close to 2x difference

We have one true academic site in the state. They also have a community based group (where I worked for 12 years and was the medical director for 4 years). The delta there for base for new grads was roughly $200K, let's call it 40%. For the other employed groups in the area the delta was closer to 50%.
