you guys can go ahead and make one right now if you'd like. I would personally recommend holding off though because the school makes an official fb page for your class around Jan-Feb. If you guys don't wanna wait you can go ahead and make an unofficial one.

Congrats. I don't mean to be rude, but is it a conditional acceptance based on your mcat retake or are you actually in in? I thought pod schools were trying to increase the caliber of their stats, but it seems like everyone is sub-500 this year for mcat. Again, I am NOT knocking you in any way. I'm just genuinely shocked that pod schools average accepted mcat's aren't even average (500) in term of the aamc percentiles.
    Please don't hate me. hahah

No, my acceptance is not conditional. I received a letter of my acceptance and scholarship amount. I am planning to retake MCAT for my own purposes. Since most say that MCAT can predict success in medical school and how you will do on boards, I want to find right strategies to study for it and see if I can get higher score.

I thought average MCAT score was 490 or so for DMU if you look on their Class Profile Page.

Sweet. Check out reddit mcat. There's good anki decks in it and the 100 page P/S doc. It got me a 130 in the P/S on mine so I feel it's a good study tool.

I don't know if I believe a 490 is the average for DMU. That'd be the lowest in the country.. I think they mean it as the minimum

Their average is 493 - 23 old scale for last class they tell you that at the interview. It is not 490.

This is from their own website:

    Academic performance
    3.41 average cumulative GPA
    3.28 average science GPA
    23 average MCAT
    490 average MCAT 2015

even if it is 493, my 490 is not that much lower from the average. There are students who get into DO schools with 488

Not really sure about the background check, specifically, but I emailed DMU a week or two ago and asked about when we would get more info about accessing our Pulse accounts. They said we would get all of that information soon after the New Year. I'm sure that more information about the background check and everything else we will need for matriculation will be included.

    493 is not a 23. It’s more like a 21.

I always thought I was kinda unfair to scale new mcat to the old mcat bc they didn't have that pesky psych section. If I hadn't bombed the psych section my score would have been significantly higher. Who knows if the old mcat had a psych section would people have gotten the same scores. IDK just some food for thought lol.

    3. Enough.
    4. Received II's to all 9 of the schools. (I would not recommend doing this) Went to NYCPM, Temple, and then Kent State out of curiosity.
    5. All 3. From the area so planned on choosing between only NYCPM/Temple but after the process felt Kent State was just on another level and couldn't justify staying close to home. Was very surprised to say the least. Good luck to everyone else!

Another reason for future applicants to take gossip with a grain of salt and check out the school in person for themselves.

    Well done.

Best of luck. You'll do great.
