Hi guys,

Post here if you have been accepted to the Scripps Post-Bacculareate Pre-Medical Program and will join the class of 2012-2013. I'd love to start getting to know people so we can talk about housing, classes, etc. Yay!

Congratulations!! I got an email today for the interview so I really really hope that I will be accpeted. This is my first choice. May I ask you about your interview? what the questions were like? how intense was it? I have read some of the post from here, very helpful but I belived that it was a few years ago.

any suggestions and recommendations would be appreciated.

Thank you and hope to see you there 🙂

Oh....I looked at your other post and I find it helpful

Hey there! Congrats on the interview!!! Hope the other post was helpful - feel free to message me if you have more questions or anything! Good luck!!

Thanks for posting the thread! I was accepted last month and am glad that we can introduce our selves. Congrats on your acceptance. Scripps was my first choice, so I am thrilled to begin in June (or late May). Do you currently live in Southern California? I live around Huntington Beach and will be moving to Claremont before summer starts. I am just now beginning to research finance and housing options.

Hello Apirada! Congrats on the interview! I'm not sure if my experiences are similar to others, but I thought the interview was pretty casual and short. I had previously heard that the interviewers will grill you and was a little worried when that didn't happen.
I practiced and prepared for the interview and how to explain things from my personal statement. I was questioned about a few poor grades I had on my transcripts, even ones from 5 or 6 years ago. You should know how to explain any weaknesses on your academic record. Also, I was asked to talk about my current volunteer work in health care.
Sorry I don't remember too many specifics about the questions, my interview was in October. I hope this helps! Good luck!!!

Thanks, any information help 🙂

I am scheduled for interview on Jan 30 or Feb 1, I am gonna call them tomorrow to discuss the date. I am so nervous but hope that I will do well.

How long did you wait from the interview date and when you knew that you were accepted?

I live in Claremont and I like this little town 🙂 here is a link for housing service http://blogs.cuc.claremont.edu/realestate/

I think you can find something in Claremont between 600-800 with utilities. Pomona, upland and montclair are a little bit cheaper depending on the neighborhood.

if you look in summer there are always something because many students graduated and you may find good deals. Sometime it's as low as 550 with utilities, make sure there is nothing wrong with the place or people.(hard to know until you live there) A better choice would be you find other pre med students and rent a whole house together so that you have the same goal and keep each other motivated. 🙂

My husband and I rent out our room to students, unfortunately, the rooms are currently full but I can give you as a reference for what you can find.

Hope to see you at Scripps 🙂:xf:

I lived in Pomona when I went there but don't advise it. If I could do things again I'd live in upland.

I'm currently in the post-bac program at Scripps and I rent a room in Claremont. It's cheap and a five minute bike ride from campus - couldn't be happier. I'd definitely recommend looking in Claremont/Upland/Montclair, as those are the closest to campus.

Nice to meet you!!!! So glad we can connect. I'm actually from Texas, I'm thinking of looking for housing this spring. Scripps was my first choice too - I'm really happy.

They will let you know within 14 days, but I had an interview Friday and my decision was mailed out that Monday...so the turnaround is extremely fast.

Hello Everyone! 🙂

This is my first time posting on SDN, and I'm so glad to meet all of you! 🙂

I just found out that I have been accepted to Scripps' post bac program via email!
Although I have not received the admissions letter in the mail yet and am still waiting to hear back from 2 schools, Scripps is my first choice! 🙂

I was just wondering...
For those who have already decided to attend Scripps, do you know when school starts?
I know that Summer school starts on May 29th, but will there be an orientation?
And does anyone have a clue as to whether it will be before or after summer school?

Also, regarding housing...
I hope to walk to school and the Admissions Director recommended Brighton Park apts, but I have seen some good and some very bad reviews. I plan to live with my brother who will be working, but does anyone have suggestions for living close to campus (for a reasonable price)?

I received so much help from the SDN threads (including this one), so thank you everyone for all the helpful info!
And good luck to those still waiting for results! :luck:

Thanks! 😀
