Hi,
I was wondering how many people got accepted this past cycle with a 3.3 s-gpa and where?
My sgpa is 3.3 and ogpa is 3.5,
I'll be applying in the next cycle with a AA/TS 21/21 dat score
What are my chances? Especially for Baylor?
Have some leadership, lots of shadowing, need to work a little more on volunteering
Thanks in advance

Upward trend or anything?

Really trying hard to. Had a bad spring semester, but did better this semester with 3 As and 2 B's
Hope to make it better in the next semester as well.

Was just curious. You are currently around the average for most schools. An upward trend and finishing strong will only help. Good luck!

It's not impossible to get in with a 3.3, the rest of your application really needs to stand out though. Your PS needs to really hit home as well as your LOR's. Your DAT is ok, not wow, but it's not going to hurt you either. What are your EC's?

I have a 3.3 sgpa 3.3 ogpa and 3.5 bcp with a 20 aa, 24 pat (18 qr brought me down). 1 acceptance, 1 waitlist and an opportunity to interview at 2 other places but declined them. I even applied late August which is considered late I think. If you apply in June I think you will do fine.

Thanks for the replies! I really hope I can have a strong upward curve by the time I apply
I really want to get into Baylor because of some restraints due to husbands job and stuff, but I do plan to apply out of state too. Baylor is so competitive :/

I have a 3.3sgpa/3.4gpa, but trending with a 3.7 in the last 2 years, 20AA/20TS. I've got 2 acceptances, 1 wait list and i've turned down some interviews. You're chances are good just be sure to apply early and to the right schools.

I have a sgpa- 3.32, ogpa-3.35 and a 20 AA. Got 3 acceptances 2 waitlists and 4 more interviews to come. But I do have a strong upward trend with ~3.75 GPA in the last 2 years

I had a 3.32 oGPA with a decent upward trend (all pre-req science courses ~3.6)

My sGPA was a 3.44 and BCP was a 3.52.

Accepted to UOP and MWU-AZ so far
Waitlisted at Roseman and ASDOH
Interviewing at Colorado soon
Interviewed / waiting to hear back from: Western, Utah, Pitt

A 3.3 is a perfectly acceptable GPA so long as you have other standout qualities.

All of your replies are really encouraging! I really hope I have some of the same outcomes next cycle. Thanks!

Hey! I'm a Canadian applicant, and my GPA stats are identical to yours. 3.3 s-GPA and 3.5 o-GPA. I got three interviews and three acceptances this year, and it was my first cycle applying. It's definitely do-able 🙂 Just make sure you keep pulling your GPA up as you've indicated and that the rest of your app stands out as well. Good luck!!

If you don't mind me asking, where did you apply/get accepted? Oh and how did you do on the DAT?

This gives me hope. My stats are similar with same DAT scores as OP. I applied late though so that's probably why I didn't get any interviews.

Anyone with same stats get into school in Texas?

Baylor puts alot of emphasis on upper level biology courses. A&P, Histology, Cell & Molecular Biology, Immunology ect.
Baylor also looks heavily at the biology section on the DAT. If you did well in these areas of your application i'd say you have a fighting chance at admissions.

What are OP's chances at Nova?

If you were a betting man would you bet on him getting in or being rejected?

I have two acceptances so far. Slightly higher GPA but a slightly lower DAT! I would apply early (I applied kinda late) and I think you should be good to go. I can't comment on specific schools, but apply broadly, nail your interviews, and I wouldn't worry too much.

Stats are in my signature. There's so much more to an application than stats though. A strong PS, shadowing, and good letters of rec are very important to an application. I think it's one of the reasons why I got 6 interview invites. Good luck!
hey fam, congratulations. If you don't mind me asking, where all did you apply? And you went from undergrad to dent school right? no breaks or post grad stuff?

Acceptances at: Midwestern- AZ, Modwestern -IL, westernU, UNLV, UNE, NYU, tufts, kentucky, and Detroit
congratulations. You might have said this before but did you have something out of the ordinary that allowed you to get accepted to so many schools? My science GPA is around what you have but my oGPA is higher. I am about to take the DAT 9 prob in March) just kinda scared for it cuz I suck at taking tests that will decide my life..

My tips for you is too aim high on the DAT, I got a 21aa, 21 TS, 21 pat.

So I guess aim for that or higher.
And apply very early. First couple of batches, I think it matters. And work hard on your personal statement 🙂
