I've been obsessively checking this thread for weeks now and I think it's time I share my stats. I'm a Canadian student coming from undergrad major in molecular bio, but applying to health promotion/education streams, so I really had no idea what my chances were. I ended up applying to a LOT of places, and it's been one hell of an emotional ride watching acceptances/rejections flying in.
GRE: 600V, 710Q, 5.0AWA (I wrote it twice lol. The 1st time I bombed verbal.)
GPA: 3.33 cumulative, 3.68 for last two years
Experiences:
-Molecular bio summer research on cancer cell signalling (summer studentship award)
-2 years writing for Dpt of Student Life blog at my school to promote student well-being
-10 months volunteering at Hospital for Sick Children emergency department, for clinical research and a nation-wide public health surveillance program
-summer clinical research position at Canada's largest multi-organ transplant program; data entry; developed/sent to publish patient education brochure
-Misc. EC's: residence council, peer mentoring, president of women's rights club, editorial board exec for undergrad science journal, etc
-Currently working part-time for my school's Institute for Life Course and Aging
