read the rest of the thread. I don't really care about UOP. I didn't know anything about the school other than 3 years. After researching I definitely don't want to go there. And yes I want my 75 bux back.

A month later he got a call from UoP asking whether he was still going to apply to UoP. They scheduled an interview with him, without him even sending the secondary fee. He was Hispanic. Serioulsy, schools do some big time recruiting for under represented minorities.

Another example of recruiting for minoroties that this same kid experienced while at Indiana. Indiana's director for minority affairs took the same guy to the side and told him everything he should expect in the interview and what to emphasize so that he will do well in the interview (whether it was a point of interest for him or not). I didn't get the same pep talk before my interview.

I am not having doubt because of his 17AA. Like I said, if one could interview at Harvard with 17AA, then why not UOP? I just think it's highly unlikely for his overall package to look nice, if he really only applied as a dare. Unless he cares so much about the dare that he did volunteering and other stuff, too.
 
Well, it's a possibility.

My brother got into Marquette with a 17AA and not-so-stellar GPA's, he was recruited by a minority program of some sort. They literally chased him around--he did have a bunch of really great extracurriculars,though.

So anything's possible, I guess.

He's graduating this May =)

I know of a black female who got into dental school with 13 AA. Don't know what the minority stats are for UoP though.

when i was about ten years old, my great uncle showed me his son's '82 limited edition corvette... it was one of the best things i've ever seen. been a fan of vettes ever since.

I just finished a restoration of an 1980 CJ5. It has the 304. My next build will be a hummer, mid 90's when I get out of d-school. There is no replacement for displacement.

So was anyone else disappointed about Eddie Murphy not winning the Best Supporting Actor? I thought his Little Richard-esque performance was spectacular and was one of the few high points of Dreamgirls. At least the Academy got one thing right this year...Martin Scorsese finally got his long deserved best picture and best director. As well he should have...The Departed was one of the best movies I've seen in a long time.

I like carrot cake with raisins, my wife doesn't like raisins and it is a source of great contention in our marraige.

You can never go wrong with yellow cake with chocolate frosting.
 
I was talking to a friend the other day and he was telling me that a DMD has more power to write prescriptions for painkillers, but a DDS will make more money in the long run.
So can anyone tell me exactly what the difference is between DDS and DMD? :laugh:
 
Which under represented minority has the least qualified applicants that are still admitted to dental school? I'm going with transgendered native american vegans. And speaking of which...who is smarter...URM doctors or URM dentists?

Just out of curiosity, where are all the white males going to dental school?

Has anybody been beaten up by a wallabie, I think not. kangaroos are much more evil then wallabies, you never see a wallaby with boxing gloves on.

Yeah and red velvet cake is pretty dope. But not as dope as those chocolate molten cakes with the goo inside. MMMMMMMMMMMMM

I have an eskimo friend. But he didn't apply to dental school. I think he likes red velvet cake tho.

it's not really cake, but i like brownies with icing and crumbled oreo cookies on top. add a nice tall glass of milk... that's what i'm talkin about!
