Hello, I was fortunate enough to be accepted into both of these DO medical colleges, and am looking for advice when it comes to making a decision between the two of them. This is a list of pros and cons for each which I have compiled so far, and would love to hear any input on each school or additions/corrections to my list to help me with my decision!

- Real cadaver lab
- Strong outcomes: high board pass rates and strong residency match rates into competitive specialties and prestigious institutions
- Supportive environment: students describe a tight-knit community and supportive faculty
- Lower cost of living
- Strong clinical rotation sites
- Well-maintained and state of the art simulation labs
- Known to prepare students well for boards
- Plenty of clubs and interest groups
- One of the safest cities in Alabama, low crime rate
- Eligible for federal loans
- Affiliated with Southeast Health hospital system
Cons:
- Far from any airport, difficult to get to and from
- Know no one in the area
- Research is largely student-driven, mostly case studies and reports
- Heard a lot of faculty has been leaving
- Strict remediation policy
- Cumulative exams and mandatory attendance?
- Not a lot to do in the area
NSU KPCOM:
Pros:
- Close to Fort Lauderdale airport
- Support system there
- Established institution with large network of alumni
- Also strong match rates and into competitive specialties
- Modern campus
- In more urban location with more things to do in the area
- Lots of hospitals and clinical opportunities in the area
- Non-mandatory lectures
- Plentiful research opportunities
Cons:
- Virtual cadaver lab
- High cost of living
- Mixed satisfaction ratings with concerns of professors’ engagement
- Lots of shady stories involving admin
- Declining board scores
- Getting harder to find rotation sites?
- School favors the MD program over DO students?
