You are posting in the DENTAL exam thread - most won't know anything about AMC registration or radiology training.

Good to know that Iam not the only one with the preliminary fever ,I live near Coffs Harbour and I will sit the prelim on the 3 and 4 of march in Bardon.Is there someone who will sit there too?
I am happy to share as it is less boring and better luck .:laugh:
It is always less stressful to talk to someone on the exam day.

Hi everyone....does anyone have any idea if an MFDS qualification (from one of the Royal Colleges in Britain) allows for any kind of exemption from the ADC exam...say like part 1 or so? Has anyone applied for an assessment with the ADC with a MFDS qualification?

I didn't take any courses in Australia. The material is the same as any Western dental board exam. Something like the WREB in the US is much harder than the ADC exam.

u mentioned u read nbde decks as well.... do u think all that material that we try for nbde2 from kaplan review notes and the dental decks , is sufficient for the adc exam ? means , can i just stick to it ?

as u r familiar with both the patterns now , do u think the theory exam part is smwhat different from the north america ?

oh , and if u allow , can i msg u in ur inbox for further queries? it'll be a great help..

according to ADC , if u r not graduted from australia/newzealand or uk/usa/ canada or other accredited institutes , u either get urself individually assessed or give adc exam. there is no mention of exemption through mfds.

I have a question as well; any one knows what qualifications are equivalent to FRACDS part 1.

Hi,
I think the MFDS is equivalent to FRCDS part 1 if you are trying to get into any clinical masters degree program here in Australia. Hope that helps🙂

Hey, doc

For OET I'd advise to prepare by writing referral letters, and have a native english speaker check them for you ... and for the speaking part - role playing is the best way to prepare.

For Preliminary Examination you'll need:
1) Oxford Handbook of Clinical Dentistry
2) Therapeutic Guidelines
3) 1060MCQ's
