can any one tel me wen is the last date to apply for adc part1😕? can we do it online😕? i applied for my assessment just today,i'm afraid whether i ll b able to apply for march exam🙁

nag reddy,
1.december
and the adc will send you the application-form with the letter they confirm your assessment. (its not possible online)
so should be no problem for you to sit the march `08 prelim

iam wondering about the possible answers to question 77. of the 1000Q-bank.
i learned that the local delivery of antimicrobial agents just serve as an adjunct to scaling and root planing in very specific situations. they are designed to positively affect the treatment and have bacteriocidal or bacteriostatic effects on offending pathogens. is this meant by answer a????

thank you Zahnfee .how much time the adc guys took for the assessment in your case?
is your doubt regarding the question 77 is abt effect of tetracycline conditioning on rootsurface in periosurgeries, the answer is D,i guess they help in binding of lamina dura, any ways not quite sure abt it.

would you plz let me know what did you study for OET?
Thanks
hi Aquarious

Hi, I want to say thanks to our senior who start the club and how he is helping people like us who doesn't have a clue about rightway to start. I :laugh:really appreciat his effort. I was a member of this from longtime I never posted much just thought people are repeating the same old story. Then I realize that's how u get know how many people are out there sailing in the same boat. I am dentist from India and worked in Dubai for 2years and now in Australia struggling to be a good mom and a dentist.
I am giving OET this nov and got the materials for it and trying understand but I am scared about speaking role. Can anyone tell what topics they got in the role play? I got 5 rolecards ......such as telling person about correct brushing tech or mech abrasion case..etc

Nextthing I wanna ask about this dentalsupply guy...r they trustworthy? What I should order from them that would be beneficial for theory exam?
Plz senior write to me 😍

Hey guys this forum rocks!!!! and i would be happy to join it, there's so much effort done here obviously and i hope we can do more and more and who knows may be we can all meet in Australia 😉.......

Hey guys i read about that shared mail problem it's a shame!!!!! i've got an idea Drill, it will require much effort but it may solve the problem, why dont we make TWO mails one which is a shared mail for members and the other is a backup mail with only you and the old trusted members who knows its password, and whenever a new materials is added it should be added on both mails so that you can always have a backup of the materials and we can always change the password of the shared mail or make a new one when necessary, this will need much effort ofcourse but at least it can solve the problem for now ...

were are u guys

Hello Again Everyone!

I know it's hard to keep up with all the updates in the ADC examination process, but let me say that EVERYONE in this forum are doing a great job … just keep it up!

I want first to thank again the seniors who started previous forums on the ADC Exams. Like Draiyee, Dramol (I wonder where they are now?!) … also my friend Andreas (Draschwander) whom I wish him all the best in his Clinicals …… You Guys gave us the initiative to start all of this.

I would also like to welcome back King Tut and I tell him … I agree with you, it's a real shame the old forum and threads have been deleted … they were extremely useful!

That's why I ask DRILL and SONPARI (Who are doing an excellent job by the way!) and all the new juniors to do their best to keep this forum ALIVE as much as possible. Always have a BACK UP for these threads and only give the email password to trusted people! Whom you think are here to help and give an arm and not to harm!

Special thanks again to all the hard workers like Odonta, Somali, Composite, Navprax and all the other members.
I wish everyone who just finished their OET, Preliminary and their clinicals the best of luck!. And I tell the ones who are still preparing to STUDY HARD ……

P.S: I am putting together with a couple of people the RECALL of SEPT 07 Preliminary Exam. So if anyone is interested to have it or interested to discuss anything else is welcomed to email me at [email protected]

CHEERS!
^_^

hi, i absolutely agree with sonpari😎.dont be scared of speaking test dentmumassi the role playing card is similar to any dental patient comming to us with a complain😉. usually they put two situations one is that if the patient is uncooperative due to any reason how you manage😉 socond a patient with sum dental problem which again how you manage🙄.
the main tips are
# be very very polite and for everything try to say thankyou 🙂,good evening ,have a good day etc
# dont try to be fast😱 be gentle and rather soft spoken but with clear words (irrespective of your prsonality)
# try to avoid interjection of words such as i mean, that is,so etc with every sentence😉
# and last but not the least show that you are confident and at ease (body language)😛(even though you may be sweating inside)
# even though you may blabber a wrong treatment plan do it confidently😉
cheers

i made the experience that the speaking part was the nicest of all parts.
just be confident and polite. i had a great laugh:laugh: with my tester after the test was over and she stopped the recording tapes. despite the OET tests she is a IELTS tester. she has had no medical background and there part is only to assess your speaking ability.

Well, Hope this prob of pw and gmail is sorted out by you guys soon? Drill, Sonpari, Odonta please please can I have the honour of having the access to the treasure of knowledge? 👍
I know I should be more concerned about OET for now but the curiosity is killing the cat. :scared:
I can't seems to find Cawson and Broucher mcq in Australia. Anybody, if u know where they r available or anyone kind enough to let me buy or borrow it for little money..........I will be oblidged for rest of my life.😍

Thanks Zanhfee, Anymore suggestions how to start the conversations? Specific Ques that are common in Dental visits in a polite manner UK or Aust.. I was in India and Dubai... Had to communicate more in Arabic, Hindi, and Kannada. busy learning these languages that never paid much attention to Eng.

thanks king tut for your support and drtotta for your encouragement . somali and sonpari for good tips
cheers

how old are these books that they are unavailable for most of us? and in which country were they published. Iam just wondering that i cannot find them in a medical library in the UK. they are so highly praised by many people. what`s the secret?

iam still looking for people who are preparing for the prelim and like to discuss the 1000 question-bank. i wrote one Q in this forum and got only one reply.🙁

Thank you very much for kindly considering my request and also for your help.
Cheers

Thanks Zhanfee, for the tips. Drill I hope the little one is in best of health by now and u r getting back to work. take care Drill.🙂

Rain1 R the photocopies clear in its text i mean the Cawson and Broucher mcq which u got from dentsupply? How much r they costing per book? r they worth it?😕😕

Who ever got OET materials can u plz list all the speaking topics role plays they haveor got like somali and sonpari mentioned briefly? :luck:

Yes, we have to discuss 1000mcq answers as we have been informed that all r not reliable/correct. how do we start on that?
study buddies and take care!!!!👍👍

I can not find the newest research result showing evidence of helping lamina dura binding.
but i do find a few articles suggesting it could help demineralization and fibronectin and fibroblast attachments , which is beneficial in periodontal reconstrution.

so i would prefer answer b at the moment ..........

anyone can find evidence for lamina dura for us ??

iam wondering about the possible answers to question 77. of the 1000Q-bank.

hi i think a job as dental assistant will definetely help you with speaking part.

so far i can only remember one of my role play in OET test .

a patient come in with a large MOD and you should give treatment options . (the patient himself preferred extraction , and you should expain why extraction is not a good option , and the importance to keep funtion, blah blah) not difficult, just treat him as a patient not as an examiner just like you are in your own surgery room .

Thanks Zhanfee, for the tips. Drill I hope the little one is in best of health by now and u r getting back to work. take care Drill.🙂

Hi Dentmumaussi, How come you never heard about Cawson and and Broucher mcq. Any way the Photocopy of Cawson and Broucher mcq are clear and readable. With out these Books I don’t think you can clear your Theory examination. Most dentist know about and every one is running after it. It is not worth reading 1000 quastion bank and MCQ rather one should read the latest question bank and MCQ.

I think you are still planning to give OET and discussing about Theory and clinical in advance. If you start counting money you will never be able to get your licence in Australia. Total cost of getting a licence is around $ 55,000 to $70,000 including OET Theory, Training study materials and clinical. If you are smart, this can be cut short by saving on books and study materials and some part of the training.

These examinations are not very hard if you can read the Books to the Point and short note. Many of the Books you only need to read some chapters. If you need further help just email me I will answer you point by point.
Cheers
