ADCOM spies

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Yes, I was referred to here by an adcom member!

yes...they were even members here who claimed they were recognized during their interviews.
if i was an adcom i would sit here all day long...:meanie:

thats scary...

thats scary...

only if you are not an honest person at all times😀
but don't think that they sit here and read everything...they have better things to do...besides it is not always so easy to figure out who is who.

Someone on an ADCOM gave me some information and then told me that he/she didn't want to see it on SDN the next day because that had actually happened to him/her and he/she was annoyed about it.

As said above, I am sure adcoms browse SDN for various reasons including, finding out what people are saying about them, what people might know, or how silly some of our topics and discussions might be.

But regardless, medical school admission is a competetive field. It would be foolish to say something that you would not want attributed to you either by an adcom member or someone else reading your post. you have worked way to hard for that. Remember, the main purpose of SDN is to help all those in the pre health professions make it to and through our schools. It helps us easily gain advice which would be hard to come by, especially with some of our undergraduate advisors that we have.

me talk pretty one day

Do you guys think adcoms look at SDN, Facebook, and Myspace?

ADCOMs actually hire applicants to spend all day on SDN, working as spies, with the lure of offering them a guaranteed acceptance if they put in 8+ hrs/day.

I don't know about ADCOM, but I know that administration at my school keeps track of what is being said about our school on this board (Note: they don't post). There was some grossly incorrect information out awhile back, and admin knew about it before I questioned them about it (and this was within hours).

Your biggest problem is not necessarily the admissions staff or administration. They can, and do, read things you write over the internet. But...their is always someone on SDN out to get you-- a classmate, or a rival, or just a pathetic loser who has taking a disliking to you. THEY will read your stuff and THEY wil turn you in to the administration. If you don't think your fellow classmates know who you are, then you are sadly mistaken.

The thing you should get out of this is that you should never say anything on line that you wouldn't mind having repeated to everyone. Most people have left more than enough clues to their true identities-- you just can't hide like you think. The internet is far less anonymous than most people believe. Several times I've PM'ed people and and really shocked them with all that I knew about them. Most people don't say enough in one message to identify themselves, but think about all the stuff you've revealed in little bits and pieces.

Just think before you post-- that's all you need to know.

doo duh doo doo, doo duh doo doo...

yeah they look at it - more at the interview feedback than anything else. OSUCOM asks you to write the feedback so they can improve the interview experience, and i know there are more. Dont say anything here you wouldnt say in person, thats just a rule of thumb anywhere. As for them constantly watching us...they have jobs. they have lives. unlike some of us. think about it.
