I was searching an old forum and I found an interesting statement by a current adcom.
"(did you work in HS? did your wages help to cover family living expenses? what % of your tuition/fees in college was covered by your earnings?) the you might want to check the "hardship" box as well and fill out that section of the AMCAS."
During my undergraduate career, there was a period in time in which my only working parent had been laid off. In order to help lessen the situation, I picked up a job in undergrad to pay for rent, food, and a portion of my tuition. I continued this job for the rest of my education.
Would I really be classified as disadvantaged? I didn't originally intend to mark that box because I do not want to be considered disingenuous, considering the typical reasons why people classify as disadvantaged.
