Advice on Shadowing a Physician

Does anyone have any tips on how to get started?

Does anyone have any stories of their own that might be helpful to some of us that are looking for this opportunity?

Alternatives to shadowing, etc...?

Have you tried contacting the D.O. school in your area? They should have a list of alumni who shadow students.

I just asked my surgeon if I could shadow him...He even took me to surgery that day! Now I am interning with him!

Some advice...
~be yourself
~be polite (especially to the nurses/staff)
~ don't be afraid to ask questions
~Listen, listen...there are times when my doc can't remember something the patient said and asked me
~ remember to say "thank you" at the end of your day
