Hi,
I am relatively new to this forum.I read through some of the discussions and interview stories. They have a lot of info 🙂 i didnt expect to find so much. 😉

I am a FMG doing my Masters in Sports medicine-Exercise physiology,i have a step 1 83 and step 2 of 90 scores .I wanna apply for residency programs in pm&r.So my q is can i apply to programs which are in the top 20 or so??
I called up to them requestin info whether fmgs can apply and minimum cut off scores. Some said they would do a J1 OR h1 AND SOME TOLD THEY DONT TAKE IN FMGS.Now still i am apprehensive whether those which said yes would consider my application or not.if not its a whole waste of lots of money.

I request and appreciate anyone who could guide me a bit,
Thank you
Sincerely,
Mailstapedius

Despite the hype, I would not hesitate to apply to any PMR program. Remember that ranking sources like US News and World Reports do not reflect quality resident medical education-it only means high quality physical therapy (often at the expense of resident training). I know for a fact that some of the "top" PMR programs on that list went close to 90 on their rank list to fill this year. That means that like 80 applicants rejected them, not vice-versa.
