Not positive movement, but movement nonetheless. Waitlisted in January, rejected via snailmail today. I'm in Delaware.
It's all good though, I've decided to accept BU's offer!
Good Luck to all those anxiously waiting...

Thanks for the update. I was waitlisted in early March and interviewed late January. Wondering if I should keep waiting...(BU's deposit is super high!).

how do you know if you're waitlisted?

so they dont tell you that you're waitlisted? like send you post-mail or email?

how did the OP know he got WL in January then and the second-poster in March?

i interviewed mid-Nov, and got my WL letter mid-Jan

My application as of today: Baleeted.

At least they're going through the waitlist pretty quickly for everybody still wanting a spot.

did you guy get an official waitlist letter, or a letter saying that your app had been favorably reviewed by the adcom?

bump

did anyone else get rejected from the wait-list?

has anyone been moved from the wait-list to the favorably reviewed list?

thanks! AECOM is my first choice, and I can't stand the wait :scared:

I got rejected from the waitlist too. 🙂
I think the waitlist letter just said that our files would be re-reviewed later. I don't think it actually said "waitlist."

I'm glad to know that the waitlist is moving, because I got an additional LOR sent and I was a bit worried that there was something bad in it, since I didn't expect to hear until June (that's what they had told me). So, good to know that's not necessarily the case 😛

Perhaps that was not a waitlist letter...just a "hold" letter. My letter specifically said "waitlist"....and the admissions office told me that ALL waitlist candidates are not reviewed until the summer.

doh....I wish they would start moving already 🙂

Well maybe I'm confusing the letters from different schools. I'm sure it was the waitlist. I talked to them about it in January, and they told me there was no way I'd hear until June at the earliest. This was a big deal, because I would have to defer, and the deadline for requesting deferral is June 1st. I was told there was no way I'd hear before then. So I guess they were wrong, since I heard 😛

I'm sorry to hear that tigress. 🙁 I'm not surprised though that they were mistaken about when you'd hear....they seem to be a little disorganized. I was never able to find out if my application was even complete, and then one day, out of the clear blue, the interview invite arrived. So I figured, ok, cool, I guess that means my app is complete. But I have no idea why they never notified me that I was complete even after I called to follow up on my app several times. 😕

Let me try to help with some of the confusion that my post apparently created:
I interviewed very early (September 21) and in January I received a letter via snailmail telling me that I was on the "wait list" and that, in essence, my chances were pretty slim of getting an acceptance. I think that I recall others getting this type of letter. Anyway, my rejection letter didn't refer to my "waitlist" status at all - just the typical rejection form letter.
Sorry for the confusion.

nah, I'm the one that caused the confusion. I think my letter said that about the "wait list" as well. I was just confusing it with the Penn State letter, probably. So I'm the one to say sorry 🙂

Q, thanks, but I'm really not bothered by it. At this point I don't care. Besides, I already knew I wouldn't go there because an acceptance would come after June 1st so I wouldn't be able to defer. Of course now I know that I may have heard from the waitlist earlier and been able to defer in the end, but since my mind was convinced otherwise in January, I wasn't holding out much hope 😛

what about for the ppl who interviewed after Dec? We're not going to find out til after june?

why didnt they just tell us it was an interview for a WL spot then...

I interviewed in March...I was told that we were interviewing for real spots. The adcom is apparently on break until May, though!

I just received a favorably review letter today in the mail from aecom. I interviewed on Jan 24th. Anyone else get anything?

I received one as well. Better than regular waitlist, I guess!

is it better than the waitlist? does anyone have any idea how many people get this letter? I feel like just as many people get this as those who get the waitlist letter- what do you guys think- or know?

Has anyone been moved from waitlist to the favorably reviewed list? Or does anyone know when they start reevaluating waitlist people? I know that the waitlist said May, but May is a long month. I hope we waitlistees start to hear before June 😛

i got a favorably reviewed letter as well. I think they have two waitlists.. the favorably reviewed list is the waitlist they take from ..the actual waitlist is a lot tougher to come off of because they take favorably reviewed people first

Hi! When was your letter dated? I still haven't heard from them and I interviewed in February. Is anyone is the same position?

I interviewed on March 13th, my favorably reviewed letter was dated May 5th. In response to a previous question, yes, it does appear that favorably reviewed is a lot better than regular waitlist. Here is last year's waitlist thread:

http://forums.studentdoctor.net/archive/index.php/t-200522.html

They go through the favorable list before they start the regular waitlist.

Cheers

Anyone know if they take the reg. waitlist and re-evaluate them for potential movement into the favorably reviewed? Seems like to me that people who interview later (ie. post January 15th) can get the favorably reviewed letter while those who interview before the intial batch of acceptances (jan15th) get the reg. waitlist. letter. ANy insights on this?

I interviewed first week of January and was favorably reviewed so where'd you come up with a Jan 15 cutoff?

Okay, that makes more sense. Thanks! Just from previous posts, it seems that the majority (if not all) came from interviews post the initial batch of acceptances, that's all. It seemed perplexing to me too, so this makes a lot more sense.

bump...anyone?

any news?

I emailed Noreen Kerrigan, since people from last year did and she just got back to me with this reply:

"Hi:

We are just looking at your application now and should have some good news for you shortly.

Good luck!"

Now personally, I don't have the slightest clue what this is suppossed to mean but if people are anxious, I suggest emailing Noreen in a couple of days. She replies really quickly. And I was favorably reviewed in March, interviewed beginning of January.

I emailed her as well and that is the same message I got; I also interviewed in January and was favorably reviewed in March. I actually called the office trying to speak to her but couldn't and the person answering the phone couldn't tell me directly if we would get in, although I have a pretty good feeling we'll hear by the beginning of June.

Hey guys -

I was accepted off the favorably reviewed list today. I interviewed in March, got the favorable review letter earlier this month, emailed Dean Kerrigan to ask about my status last night, and received an acceptance email today. The email said that my acceptance was given out yesterday, however, so I don't know if my inquiry made any difference.

Trying to decide between AECOM and Rochester now! (got off the waitlist for that a couple days ago) ::stumped::

does it say how long you have to decide?

wow, those are the two i am deciding between right now too! rochester and einstein..I too just got off the favorably reviewed list today at einstein..i am from the city though..im going with Einstein!!!! woot woot

I called both offices to clarify; they both said 2 weeks after the time an offer was extended. Sorry guys, I promise I won't take that long!

I hope this info is useful to anyone still waitnig to hear: I was interviewed in February and was put on the wait list in March. I was accepted off the waitlist May 12th but declined on May 15th.

wailist or favorably reviewed list?

I , tooo emailed Dean Kerrigan with a letter of intent, as Einstein is my first choice. But all she noted was that She will have a better idea of "where I stand" in the summer. Then she wished me good luck and best wishes, whatever happens. I suppose that isn't a good sign! I interviewed Nov and got waitlisted January 15th. i think for those who interview in the batch that get sent letters on the 15th of January either get in or get regularly waitlisted. Wondering what my chances are here at all. 😕

Though, congrats to all who did get in!!!! Btw, I'm also waitlisted at Rochester , which I also love----So I'm totally green with envy, WayChanger!!!

CONGRATS!!!

I just got in! Opens a spot up for anyone wanting to go to BU.

I just dropped my spot at AECOM in favor of Rochester. I hope one of you guys get it. =)

I interviewed in mid-March and until today no decision has been made on my application. Anyone in that situation? What are my chances?

FYI, my friend just got in off of the favoribly reviewed list. Apparently she got an email about it on Friday, but it got Spam-blocked so she didn't see it. She emailed them today for a status check, and they told her she's in. Good luck everyone!

For those who e-mailed Ms. Kerrigan, how long did she take to respond to your emails?
(I e-mailed her about a week ago and did not get a response)

Thanks...

u can also email admissions, it took them around 2 hours to get back to me. They told me to "hang in there" and that I was in a very good position. Three days later, i was accepted

first post.

Just want to pass along my story for those of you still holding out hope. Rejected both pre- and post-interview from 11 schools, some good, some great, some terrible. Waitlisted at Columbia, Albert Einstein, and SUNY Stony Brook.

I sent multiple letters expressing my desire to attend each school and relevant personal information updates that would poisitivley reflecton on my application. I sne t these letter once every three weeks, and full of substnatial acheivements not blather...what can I say, I've had a proactive winter/spring/summer. Anyway, May 16th rolls around, and still nothing. Bastards!

So I figure I'll write a postcard to each school, just to say hey, I'm still into you, no worries. I drop 'em in the box that night, the next morning Dean Kerrigan emails me to say I'm accepted and the official letter is in the mail! (okay, so it was three inadvertantly sent emails that all said the same thing, but they get the point across. in any eveny, it was the best email I've EVER received. So I'm loooking forward to seeing many of you in the Boogie Down come August. Goog luck to everyone else

Guess I'll scoot on over to the accepted thread. Hang in there everyone. Keep hope alive.

-David

A week ago I sent an email asking about my status and Dean Kerrigan emailed me back within 2 hours saying that I should hear good news soon. This morning I got an email saying that I am accepted and that the letter is in the mail! Yay, I'm still in disbelief. I'm going to withdrawl from my other school as soon as I get the package in the mail!

Congrats 🙂

Were you on the waitlist, or just accepted post interview?

interviewed early january, favorably reviewed in march.

I received my favorably reviewed letter 3 days ago, and emailed and fedexed my "yes, i'm still interested" letter to Noreen Kerrigan. I know a bunch of you got emails back saying "you SHOULD hear good news soon", but I think her response to me was less definitive, the "Hopefully" is really throwing me off...what do you think?

"Hopefully, we'll have good news for you shortly."

Thanks!

Sounds like you've got a great shot michelle. Favorably reviewed goes to the people they would accept if they had the space to do so. I think the class is still open. Either that or Dean Kerrigan is assuming people are still going to drop acceptances, which is a wise assumption considering that many accepted candidates are on waitlists at other places. You'll probably receive your acceptance around June 20. You can gauge the duration of the wait by the date they want the "yes, I'm still interested" letter in by. Good luck, but im pretty sure you're a in no doubt!
