when a school determines a student as "qualified" and gives them an interview, does the pharmacy school then base all the decision on whether you get in on the interview or do they still consider grades and stuff after your interview?

It really depends on the school. Most schools (that I've seen) will look over most of your material just to ensure that you meet the minimum criteria for eligibility. Then they may look over a small portion of your application (such as your personal statement) in order to determine whether or not they grant you an interview. After the interview the admissions committee convenes and makes their final decision. Some schools don't even give their interviewers access to much more than your PS and your other supplemental essays. So they don't even have access to your grades, PCAT, etc. Some allow their interviewers to have full access. Either way there is usually a much more in depth evaluation after the interview process.

I think it is pretty well accepted that the interview is only one consideration. They do not consider everyone 'equal' with the interview being the 'tie-breaker' to decide between everybody.

thanks for the answers guys. so i guess it does make sense that the interview would only be 1 portion. i guess its not fair to someone who has a high gpa who interviews decently to be ranked lower than someone who interviewed well but has average grades. or for someone who has done other curricular.
