I have an ochem test next friday, and the alcohols are really getting to me....hiccup.......

no but seriously, is anyone else out there also suffering with aldehydes, ketones, grignard reagents, etc.????

Yes...the last 100 years of students who took O-chem. I know this isnt any consolation, though. Good luck.

Aaaw, I'm sorry :-\ Chin up girlie! Just click your shoes and say "There's no place like home there's no place like home there's no place like home!"

I just had my organic chem midterm on wednesday. It was on the preparation and reaction of alchols and etheres and aldehydes and ketones. Organic chem really is a sucky subject but it's just one of a bunch of useless subjects that you must study to even have a chance at med school.

medical school is filled with useless subjects. i'd much rather learn ochem than this stupid **** right now. at least ochem uses concepts.

I'm taking my stereochemistry exam Monday

Thats cool, just make sure the left channel and right channel are properly balanced, and remember not to play it too loud, your non-scientific neighbors might call the cops!

te-he

I just heard how worthless many classes are from an austrian economist and how it has nothing to do with the practice of medicine. From a political point of view it is just a way for others to make money.

Mine was a take home exam. Problem here is that my professor didn't teach much of the alcohol reactions. And some of the problems were not in the text book. But I guess I would take the take home over an actual exam I guess.

What If I had a take home exam....
Oh well, took the ACS finals this morning, got my results back, 67/70 Wooo hoooo!!!!

I loved orgo when I was an undergrad. Loved it so much that I became a orgo tutor for the chemistry department the following year. It makes a surprising amount of sense when you step back and look at it. You'll do fine. It's child's play compared to what you'll be asked to learn in MS1.

Suggestions: buy organic chemistry as a 2nd language (it really freaking helps) and a model kit. Once you can do all the reactions in your head, your orgo tests will just be easy As.

Source: A in organic 🙂

I don't know if this helps, but I was always told that you would never draw a dog with 5 legs, it just looks weird. So never draw 5 bonds to carbon.

...I'm sorry, what was the question again? Something about alcohols?

this makes me feel like an idiot for freaking about my Physics 3 final tomorrow...
