Allergy Fellowship and Step3

I am starting my second year of peds residency and I am planning on applying for an allergy fellowship. Based on my schedule it looks like the best time for me to take step 3 is in the spring. Is it necessary to have taken step 3 prior to applying for an allergy fellowship? Thanks!!

No, you program directors don't evey look at your Step 3 scores. They'll look at your letters of rec and how many publications you have.

Agree with above. Don't worry about Step 3. Its all about research, publications, who you know and how well you can work the system.
