Is allergy/immunology a subspecialty of IM? Also, how competitive is it? What can you do to increase your chances?

YES

Also, how competitive is it?
Due to: Excellent Lifestyle + Lack of programs,
it is very competitive, like the 4th after GI, Cardio, HemeOnc.

What can you do to increase your chances?
1) Bust your own derriere 🙁
2) Kiss other derriere 🙂

Become an internal applicant, best way to sneak in the door. There's maybe 1-2 spots per year per program and sometimes one of those spots will go to someone that's already got a project going.
