I just submitted my application on the OSU deadline date. AADSAS has my transcripts.
Am I too late? Should I not bother doing a lot of schools?
Gpa is at about a 3.2.. .don't know my SCI AADSAS has not verified yet.

DAT
AA 20
TS 20
Chem 18
Orgo 22
Bio 20
RC 24
PAT 20
QR 18

I am just wondering if it is too late at this point and if I will just be wasting my money and time. I submitted to a couple schools thinking it would be a good idea, but the more I see on SDN that people are already getting interviews, the more unsure I get about adding schools.

What do you guys think?
Any schools you recommend if you think I should just go through with it?
I don't mind spending the $$ if i have a chance.

It's just the first rounds of interviews so far, so you probably still have a chance. What schools have you applied to already? I think USC and NYU are good schools to apply to with your stats.

We are in he middle of September. It's not that late. Don't be discouraged by all the hype about applying early on SDN. I have talked to dental students on SDN who had truned in their applications late after October, and still got accepted in great schools. It's a good thing to apply early though. You definitely have a chance, and will get somewhere with those stats if you handle the interviews well. Good luck

just apply asap. you are not too late if you get it in now

I have my apps in, waiting for LOR, transcripts verified. Waiting for the next mailing ? Just found out my Sci GPA is like 3.09 BC of a D in calc ( i retook for a B+ the next time-- not my forte). Will this hurt my chances?

So far i have 13 schools....
thinking about adding 8 more.
Is it worth it?
Funds are not an issue ( my parents agreed to support me for the applications), but I'm just wondering if its ridiculous to submit that many apps, if schools look down on it, etc.

Really hope I am not too late!! Any advice on schools I should DEF apply to.
So far I have BU, Case, Midwestern, NYU, Temple, OSU, Tufts, Buffalo, Detroit, Pitt, UoP, VCU, WVU. (Ohio Resident). I'm worried Case is gonna reject me as soon as they see my GPA!!

I would drop case since they are really strict about their gpa cutoffs and it seems like their interview dates are almost full already.

Hmm... good to know about Case! Thanks. I really wanted to go there since its only 20 minutes from my home, but I know my GPA is pretty bad for their standards. Oh well. I am thinking about adding ASDOH, Creighton, Howard, Marquette, UMD,New Jersey, Mich, UNLV, USC. UNLV and ASDOH stress the service work I want to do and I like that ( i know its a long shot but tahts my reason for applying there). Wish I paid more attention my freshman year in college!

Any suggestions on schools to not do / add? Waiting for my apps to get sent out from AADSAS now.

hmm Howard might be a waste of money.

I also applied to Howard (since my GPA isn't that great either) but I haven't heard anything from them other than the confirmation of my application.

i have 3.38 gpa with 21/20/21 DAT (and i applied there end of May)

unless you're an underrepresented minority, i wouldn't really count on Howard's stats and think that it'll be a good shot

I would say don't add NJ. They prefer in-staters, and their mean GPA is 3.53 according to the latest ADEA guide. I think to be an out of stater and get accepted you'd have to have some stellar stats. Take a look at doc toothache's interview/acceptance post, you'll see they only accepted 19 out of staters out of over 1000 out of state applications for 2007 --> http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=563195
