So I posted earlier how I matched in PM&R but not in an prelim position. I know that I matched in Houston, TX (which means Baylor/UT Houston). Tomorrow when I get the official match results I am going to immediately notify my PM&R program of my situation. I have had no luck in the SOAP to find anything and the number of prelim spots are dropping including prelim surgery which has like 59 at the moment. I am afraid that they may mostly all gone by tomorrow. Have you heard of the advanced programs like Baylor/UT Houston pulling some strings to help their candidates find something? I am going to looking relentlessly for the next few months before July 1st to find something but I am hoping that my program will also help me . I feel like it's in their best interest too because they don't want to have to drop me and find someone else. At least I'm praying that they won't.

Relax program at large center will take care of you or you medical school will take care of you... At my school the hospital will make another prelim spot if needed. Some community family medicine and internal medicine programs will add a spot if you program ask/funds it...

I'm a USIMG from SGU. They said they'll try to keep an eye out for anything. I don't think they can do much. I talked with the residency coordinator who said to email the PD's. I'm just waiting to hear back. Gotta keep my fingers crossed that something by July 1st will come through. Thanks for the reply. I hope they can do something like you said. How will the hospital make another prelim spot? Aren't they limited based on funding? I really hope that's the case for me? Gotta keep my fingers crossed. Anybody else have any experience with this.
