AMCAS reference letters - assign now or during secondary?

Just a quick question: after filling in every school I want to apply to during the primary, I'm asked which LORs to send to that school. Should I just skip this step for now, and wait until I get the secondary? Or do I have to fill it out now, for those schools I already know which letters they require (would it hurt to wait)? Thanks.

Yea, I'd wait to see the instructions for the secondaries one at a time.

Will the schools I've designated for specific letters get them if they've already been received by AMCAS? Or will they only go out when they get the primary on the 24th?

It doesnt matter at all what you do. I called amcas about this a few days ago and she told me I can do it now or later, it makes absolutely no difference. Personally i just checked the boxes now.

Do it on the AMCAS if you can. My school required the AMCAS letter request form so I didn't really have a choice to wait. Either way, getting them there early can help. If you wait for secondaries then you will have the possibility of a delay to completion if there are any problems with your letters being sent/received.
