So I am going to do my Gas AI in Aug. I would like a book that would illustrate some of the basics/common procedures in anesthesia.

Someone suggested Anesthesia Secrets, and another person suggested Clinical Anaesthesia...a newer book by a british publisher....not the lange book (too many pages!), but I couldn't find it on amazon.

Also, any tips to remember some of the more basic things when starting/ending anesthesia for a case? I remember there was a thread not too long ago listing mnemonics for what to do first, next, etc. but I also couldn't find it. (I can't seem to find a lot of things these days). 🙂

It would be pretty helpful for a neophyte like me.

BTW, just finished surgery.....have to lose like 8lbs of fat I gained from those call nights...bleah! 🙁 And to top it off, it's all around my waist....that awful chunk of back fat....29.5"-->31"! Hopefully I will be able to do it during my AI in medicine...it will be nice to be decently lean and muscular again.

Happy 4th everyone! Just be careful with the firecrackers....

I would suggest the Lange book. It is thick but it is full of graphs and charts.
Lange is very readable. Some gas people like Baby Miller also.

Hey so the book's name is Clinical Anaesthesia by Carl Gwinnutt (I love how the brits put an a before the e). Apparently a good intro book for the beginner.

Just wanted to update.
