So MCW sends me this letter saying which schools I've been accepted to. It says I've been accepted to:

Cornell (didn't apply)
Harvard (got rejected)
Howard (didn't apply)
Indiana (didn't apply)
Penn State (didn't apply)
Ponce (I can't even speak Spanish!)
Wake Forest (waitlisted but withdrew)
Wash U in St Louis (rejected)
Wayne State (didn't apply)

This is unbelievable... They even said they'd withdraw my acceptance to MCW if I don't notify them by June 11. I received the letter today... CRAZY!

crazy stuff......
Just this week I had a nightmare that I was in the application cycle, and I got a letter from AAMC saying that i got into a school (the ONLY school I got into) and then I got a letter the following week saying "ooops! we're sorry..."

 Is there anything such as PRE Traumatic Stress Disorder??

Unbelievable! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" />

wow.... :( see, I'm getting so nervous....tomorrow MCAT, day after "you got in" and the day after that.."oops, we're sorry..."

Talk about emotional roller coasters.

I was surprised to hear Monday that I'd been "accepted" at Ponce without interview or completion of a Spanish prerequisite (and no official letter to boot!)

I *had* been in contact with admissions though, and would have done whatever they wanted if I was still without an acceptance in the States...so who knows.

Do you guys know what Duke did to some of us this application cycle--

Their online status check misinformed a number of us (including me) when we logged on and told us we had been admitted -- this was when I checked on the putative disclosure date -- and then, within about 24 hours, when I next logged on to read the relevant information pertinant to my acceptance, it told us the following

•••quote:•••From the Duke University Website:•

A software malfunction inadvertently miscoded a number of applications in our data base from the evening of Wednesday March 13 through the morning of Thursday March 14 resulting in decisions incorrectly posted to the interactive web site. If you accessed your account log in and your admission status changed to reflect admission to the School of Medicine, please be advised that these decisions were inaccurately posted to the web site.

As a reminder, that while all admission decisions will be posted to the interactive web site by March 22nd, no decision is official until you have received a letter of acceptance signed by the Dean of Admissions and the Dean of the Duke Medical School. Thank you for your cooperation. •••••

So... needless to say, some of your nightmarish scenarios might come to fruition, at least with Duke. That so pissed me off (indeed, I had celebrated the previous evening quite heavily), that I withdrew from Duke as soon as I shortly heard thereafter that I had actually been waitlisted.

Hopefully, nothing like that will happen this year!!! :)
