i completed my BDS in october 2010 and i want to write NBDE....i ll be getting married in 2013....so presently m confused as to when to write NBDE....if i plan to write in 2012 on a tourist visa, thr r chances of visa getting rejected and it may cause a problem for my dependent visa in future...if i plan to write the exam after marriage in 2013 on dependent visa, thr ll be a lot of delay in my studies....so m totally confused....also there is a new PASS/FAIL score reporting system and few dental schools are also asking that students must not have been more than 5yrs out of dental college....so m scared bout the delay in my studies....anybody pls kindly guide me wat to do

Think clearly and prioritize.
No one can advise you. It is your personal life.
Good luck

well i agree that its your personal matter. but my honest opinion would be that atleast start preparing for the nbde part 1. it takes time to get used to the books and studying again as you have been out of college for more than a year now. this is the best time to study as you are not married and u dont have to worry about cooking, cleaning and inlaws etc etc etc.
the same thing happened with me. i wasted 1 year saying that i dont have a problem studying after marriage. but trust me its not that easy !

so atleast prepare for the nbde 1 and as soon as u come to usa you can take your exam ( if you have already registered for that and if u have that ECE report with you) . you can register for the exam and ECE REPORT before coming here... its all online...you would have to send your documents by mail.

good luck

thank u so much for the advice....how should i prepare for NBDE 1?i know that kaplan's notes and dental decks r very essential....wat about ASDA previous papers?there r so many sets (may be from G to N)...are all imp?how can i get those papers?they r very expensive to buy....also my BDS aggregate is very less (around 61.5%)....what will be my approx.GPA?will this less percent affect my admits into dental school?and can i get my ECE evaluation done now even if i plan to write the exam in 2013?

BDS aggregate doesnt matter that much ...people do have aggregate in 60's but their GPA is High 3.7 + and some have more % but have less GPA...it is whole sole depends on Your class ranks, Repo of university from which u got graduated, How many times one took to clear a subject I mean back n all, and Individual subject marks I mean ( 1st div.marks/back/grace etc)and few other factors , they have their own criteria to evaluate. aggregate is not a big issue.
Dont worry.

ASDA Papers give You idea ..that what type of Questions they ask ...how deep you have to study .
