i have only completed bio, chem, orgo, physics, a year of math, and a year of english and my BCMP GPA is a 3.75. I have not done any anatomy, biochem, micro, etc... only the bare minimum requirements needed for applying to med school but I did do very well in them.

Can med schools hold it against me that i havent done any higher level courses when all it does not require biochem, anatomy, etc..

and can i be ready for med school having done only the bare min required for admission into med school?

Most schools recommend a course in biochemistry, and at some schools it is even a requirement. Some schools also prefer certain specific courses, so look at the schools you are applying to.

Definitely consider at least one intro-to or upper-level biochemistry course.

True and it is probably better to have some backround in what you will be learning in med school that can be learned in certain upper-level bio and biochem classes. I don't know which ones, but I'm sure you can find subject material on the curriculum of the med schools you are looking at.

Yeah. Some schools recommend/require Biochem.

I wouldn't take an upper level science course if it didn't interest you, because that's a surefire way to lower your stellar BCPM.

I don't think it's absolutely necessary, because there are a lot of non-science majors that just can't fit more science classes into their schedules due to major requirements and distributional/core requirements.

I would take a couple upper level science classes. It will better prepare you for the coursework in med school. I think most people struggle with the change in gears when entering medical school, it's good to prepare as best you can.

In terms of pace, no course you take will be close to medical school. Unless you want to take seven science courses or something, it's best not to bother. If you feel you are weak, maybe take biochemistry and a physiology course. And if you do want to take seven courses, still don't do it because you do not not, I repeat do not, overload on courses to 'prepare' yourself. You do not want to ruin your GPA. Be happy in your GPA and if everything else is in order, you'll be perfectly fine.
