I was just wondering about the performance and screen resolution versus the old one...I wasn't able to find a good review yet.

I just got a 20" about a month ago. I think the resolution's pretty good. And yea, great for porn too.

2win,

I was working on the new Macbook Pro (month old) and a ~two year old MacBook Pro the other day. Side by side. Both set to greatest brightness. Could have been my envy, but the new one seemed to be SO much clearer and brighter than the old one.

Take it for what it's worth...

27 inch is beautiful. The resolution allows you to comfortably have two full webpages side by side. It is almost too much display at first. I use the 24 inch quite often and it felt overwhelming at first, but you seem to adjust and then a normal display feels small.

If you are dead set on bluray then I wouldn't go with the imac. For everything else it is fantastic though.

I genuinely hate the Apple interface, even the iPod and the iPhone. Hate them all. All of these devices assume that I am a (and everyone else who operates them are) *****(s).

iMac 24 owner for 3 months
MacBook Pro owner for 2 months.

Wife and I have iPhones.

Diehard Win 3.1, 3.11, 95, 98, NT, XP, Vista, 7RC user for the last 20 years.
Built 4 gaming rigs in that time.

Now I am happy not screwing around with Bios, Control panel, drivers, etc.
It just works. All the parts are of a better quality build than PC parts.

2 big things in making the switch:
Need added software for a backspace button.
Need added software to allow my BT mice to go back on a webpage.
Once that was done, everything was easy. Screens are way better than my Magellan CRT or HP tablet.

It took 3 days to get used to using Finder compared to Exploder. Would not go back. I do use XP via Parallels to log in over a Citrix server for hospital based EMR (about once every 2 weeks).
