I am on hold still. Even though I have an acceptance to my 2nd choice school, I really want PCOM-GA!!!!

Is anyone still on hold for PCOM-GA? I know they said I would know by April 1st, but I am going crazy! Plus, I do not want to put a deposit down at another school.

Does anyone know when the next meeting is?😡 🙁

Am I the only one left? The only hold out there?

Okay, has anyone been on hold and then accepted or rejected at GA-PCOM?

I'm still on hold....there are plenty out there...you are not the only one!

Hold here too. I think it will be at least April before we hear anything. 🙁

My letter said I would know by April 1st, but I would like to apply for the NHCS but the deadline for all of the paperwork, including confirmation of acceptance is March 30!

Plus, I tried calling Aisha yesterday and today and they are forwarding all her calls to a voicemail system b/c of "high call volume". I just would like to know if they have set the next meeting. I guess everyone else wants to know the same thing!

Have you heard anything or are you just hanging out until April 1st?

I have been waiting for a month! Aisha emailed me "We are in the process of shaping our class. So instead of releasing
decisions the committee has agreed to hold until April 1st before a
deicsion can be released." I think that the hold letter was unnecessarily vague about the status. Oh well, I just want to know!

I'm still waiting since Jan 25th. It'll probably be a waitlist.👎

I talked to Aisha today...finally! She said the big meeting is tomorrow 👍 👍
She said they are planning to go over all of the holds, make their decisions, and send out letters by Monday.:scared: I can't decide if I am happy, relieved, or scared!

Aisha also added the disclaimer that she is not part of the adcom and is only expressing what she has been told will happen.

Hopefully she is right. If they go out Monday, I live about 3 hours away, so maybe I will get a letter (good or bad) by Tues or Wed. I will keep you all posted. If anyone hears something sooner, let us know. Please 😍

I thought they were holding spots for their biomeds? How can you have such a huge list of degrees and be on hold -that I do not understand.

PCOM-Ga>NSUCOM>LECOM-B>LMU-DCOM

Isn't that how life is? You get put on hold and waitlisted at your top choices. I guess it could be worse, we could have gotten no acceptances!

Have you paid your deposits anywhere else? I'm hoping PCOM-GA comes through next week.

They are...its the first biomed class...so GA-PCOM is little confused about it. Hopefully they will make a decision on us today as well!!! Good Luck EVERYONE :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck:

SamK, what did you think about yesterday's exam??? 😱 😱 😱

I paid LECOM-B. Yeah, I'm hoping PCOM-GA comes through too. Where else have you been accepted?

PCOM-Ga is apparently confused about everything. I think they were the only school to not even have a formal interview day, their fin. advisor not know anything about financial aid, their timings were all misconstrued, and their admissions coord. and dean not be present ... , oh and I had to wait 90 minutes just for a tour, very impressive

Good luck to all of you in your pursuits of PCOM-Ga 👍

Again, thank you for your well wishes on PCOM-GA!

I have to say Dr. I, you are right about this one. It does seem that their adcom is a little confused. And I know for a fact that their fin. advisor is clueless, I had to call PCOM-Phil to get the real scoop!

But I happen to love the campus and the area, and my interview day went very smooth. I thought the faculty we meet with was great! It sounds like your day really stunk though.

Don't even get me started ... it'd be enough to get me banned ....

Apparently, PCOM-Philly controls everything right down to the thermostat; however, doesn't do anything to make their sister campus any stronger ... sounds like a possibility for a revolution once PCOM-Ga puts out some graduating classes ....

There are several perks to PCOM-Ga, namely, the 3rd/4th years due to the school being close to Atlanta's several hospitals, including the big one in Emory ...

Ultimately, I would much rather scrap the entire application cycle; however, I've been accepted to a school ... so I guess I shall go ...

I have also been accepted to a school, but PCOM-GA is my first choice. Mainly because of those hospitals you are talking about. Some of them have fantastic residencies in peds too!

I was referring to myself. Obviously PCOM-Ga is your 1st choice, hence you made a thread on it.

congrats !!!which school did u decide/get accepted to?

congrats dr. inviz! i'm still playing the waiting game. i'm still on hold post-interview at pcom-ga. apparently the committee's meeting again the last week of march from what i hear.

Thanks Rumplestilskin and Lala83 👍

DCOM is the school that accepted me.

Good luck Lala83, if PCOM-Ga is your top option, hopefully you get it. Did you apply to DCOM btw?

Don't worry lala83, Aisha said the meeting was yesterday. She said the holds were being reviewed and the letters were being sent out on Monday 😱 :scared: 😎

that's awesome dr. inviz, i did apply to dcom...but unfortunately i sent in that secondary the first week of jan (when i should've submitted it with all the rest of my secondaries back in october). i'm still waiting to hear back from them...so hopefully they have some spots open...

thanks for the info lrobin15, although i'm not too optimistic about any school at this point.

Hopefully the letters go out tomorrow and I will be opening an acceptance Tue or Wed!!!!👍 👍 👍 :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck:

Good luck to everyone waiting!

If anyone on hold at PCOM-GA gets letters this week, please post when and how you did. This will incourage the rest of us waiting 🙂 🙂 🙂

nothing today either!!! better luck tomorrow I guess😕

Nothing today. I wonder if the letters got mailed out after all 😕

i haven't received any other acceptances, i'm still waiting on pcomga too. maybe we'll hear today?

If your on hold, I was told you would either be accepted or waitlisted. That may be hope for anyone not accepted anywhere else!🙂

I just don't believe those letters went out on Monday. We definately should be getting them by now -if they did!

I don't think letters went out on Monday either....and the misery of not knowing continues:scared:

I called Aisha. Sure enough, those letters did not go out! 🙁 😡 She said they are very busy with accreditation and they did not have enough staff to get all of the letters out. 👎 👎 She said maybe by early next week.

Of course by then I have to put in a deposit somewhere else and I will miss the deadline for the NHSC scholarship:meanie: I just don't understand why they can't give the info over the phone or by e-mail.

PCOM can be ridiculously old-fashioned, although there are those out there who find it refreshing.

We are affiliated with a lot of great hospitals in the area. But to clear up any confusion, the "big one in Emory" is Grady and you will most certainly NOT be rotating there at least 3rd year. Just did not want to get anyone's hopes up. We are however, affiliated with the next closest trauma hospital in the area.

OOOhhhh. I am so jealous of the NSU people waiting! :meanie: They started getting pulled of the waitlist already. 👍 👍

Here were are, still waiting on holds. I hope Aisha and the admissions gang had a huge burst of energy because they felt sorry for those of us waiting and decided to send those letters out yesterday....Hey, I can dream....

I am about to give up on this school. I am a biomed student there and it seems that you guys have more information about the holds/waitlist or whatever they are calling it than we do. Good luck to everyone still waiting. :luck: I do hope we all get in, but I'm not getting my hopes up at this point! 🙁
Just FYI: They are hosting an accepted students luncheon today at the school (we're on Spring break and I guess they thought we wouldn't find out about it). 🙄

Accepted student lucheon??? haha...Ofcourse they would have it when we are on spring break🙄 🙄 🙄

Why are they having that now if they are interviewing until March 30? How unfair!

Oh, and spring break! That, I'm sure, is the real reason the letters didn't go out!

P.S. Nothing in the mail today....obviously.😡

I turned in my app to dcom 1st week of january too ... good luck, would love to meet you if you get into dcom.

Yeah, I got mine in the 2nd week of Feb., interviewed on March 2 and accepted on March 9. Once you interview it moves pretty quickly!🙂 -unlike some other schools *hachoooo PCOM-ga oooo*

Isn't that so great. You love to rub it in on people huh.

Anyways, Lala, have you called them up and stuff? I was pretty persistent as I applied near end of Dec. and turned in my secondary the 1st week of Jan. like yourself ... and kept contacting them in the process. Persistence is key. Good luck.

i called dcom and wanted to show my continued interest in the school and they suggested that i email dr. carney. so i did that, but all he told me was that they were sending out invites until april 17 and that there's not much i can do at this point other than wait. although, if i haven't gotten an invite by now, i'm not too hopeful. i'll let you know if anything changes!
