wow, so essentially you'll end up with TWO rejection letters? Ouch.

That happened to me with PCOM last year, the PA campus sent the letter twice. I got the hint the first time, no need to rub it in :laugh:

just got into Touro NY!!!!! Giving up my spot at WVSOM, hopefully it helps someone out 🙂

I got into VCOM late last week. I'd estimate that they've let it ~10-13 people off the list so far...

yes, i got here yesterday. its like 2pm and its like 6am in chicago, so i may be late replying every day lol. its awesome here, though i am very upset at this exchange rate. i was driving through a mountain yesterday in a taxi and i was in a convo with the random taxi driver and he was telling me how i should come to greece when im a doctor and looking out at the view of the city, the olympic stadium, the aegean in the back, and just everything i realized how badly i wanna move to greece when i finish specializing. i think im gonna do it.... in like 10 years.

on another note, there were 64 forest fires in all of greece yesterday. lol. and one right by our house in athens, maybe 20 minutes away in an area called Glyka Nera.

Hi all,

Just wanted to update everyone sitting on wait lists. I received an acceptance from PCOM on 7/3 via snail mail. Withdrawing from NYCOM in favor of staying in Philadelphia. PCOM here I come...

Hope the NYCOM spot goes to someone who wants it. Best of luck to everyone!

Waistlists haven't been moving very well for allo or osteo for the past couple years. Competition is getting stiff.
 
yes this is by far the saddest thread on SDN!!!🙁

It looks like only a couple people got off, and every one is still on. Congrats to all the people, who got into Tourocom, UNECOM, VCOM which looks like one of the few waitlists that had decent movement.

NYCOM haD like 30+ people get off the waitlist last year, and this year 0 😱, WTF happened?

I haven't yet, but plan to either tomorrow or the day after. I want to make sure PCOM receives my deposit first before I email the admissions office at NYCOM. That's my only other acceptance. Should be no later than Thursday or Friday.

a817 are you going to Touro if you don't get into NYCOM? For some reason I thought you were a first year at touro. I know one person who withdrew recently from NYCOM, so there should be some movement.

Yea it looks like i am going to Touro, unless NYCOM tells me otherwise. Not a first year yet. I have actually warmed up touro recently. I like how they are building a floor for research which will be up and running by the time i am a second year and give me a chance to do a fellowship after second year. I just like NYCOM better because i feel my self as more of a Long Island person, and feel more comfortable there.

Hey good luck at touro, since the list is not ranked i would try to send additional grades/ recs LOI's so when they do rank the list they will consider all of that from you.

Thanks for letting me know about your friend. BTW, when did/he or she withdraw? was like a week ago or months ago? lol.

It was just recently. Within the last few weeks. I can understand that about being more comfortable in Long Island. It has more of a suburb, homey feel. It's the opposite for me. I feel much more comfortable in a condensed area. Weird, don't you think?

What should I put in a LOI? I'm always worried they sound too cheesetastic. I sent Obed all of my official transcripts, and an email updating him on what I've been doing for the past few months. Should I send him something about how much I would like to attend, or something along those lines?

I got off the GA-PCOM list earlier today....and then my psu fried. Won't let that get me down...no sir...today is a good day.
 
Accepted!!!! Got in to Touro- NY today and I am taken it.

I just got a call from midwestern!! I GOT ACCEPTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I screamed, cried, and jumped all over the place! Happiest day of my life! im still in shock and i cannot belive i got in this late in the game. I was 100% ready to move to des moines and have had everything set up to go there. im beyond excited! 😍:hardy::luck:😍:hardy::luck:😀
Best of luck to those who are still waiting! Hopeully if their not too full.. there will be a DMU spot opening up.
