Hey Just interested in seeing if anyone has gotten calls/emails from program directors. I got a few e-mails from programs and I am starting to get paranoid...

Thanks,
The Frog

I got calls from a couple of programs. But other programs told me specifically that they "don't recruit". So, I'm not getting my expectations up either way.

I've had a few calls, a few emails, and one or two snail mails. I'd say I've had some form of communication from 40-50% of the programs I interviewed with.

Similar. I have gotten a couple of letters in the mail (kind of a nice touch) and a few emails. No calls though. I think I might fall down if I got a call. 😳

I got 1 generic "thank you for interviewing" email. Nothing else. Wasn't worried about it until now...

There was a thread a couple of years ago (sheesh I'm such an SDN stalker) about getting "love letters and phone calls", and lots of people were getting freaked out about it. The funny thing is (since we can look at it in hindsight), the thing that stands out is that several people that were geekin' that a certain program hadn't called them but HAD called others ended up at that very program.

So no worries. 🙂

Furthermore, the phone calls are wretched and awkward. It's like interviewing all over again if it's a program you love and trying not to lead on a guy/girl you're not that into if it's a program you aren't ranking highly. In short - don't sweat it.

This is the thread you're talking about. It's kinda interesting to look at the sigs and, knowing where some of the posters ended up, and compare that to what correspondence they did or did not receive.

There are more productive ways to fight off the symptoms of Matchitis! Add to the residency review thread, or add to the new SDN interview database. Or participate in my survey.

Didn't mean to make anyone nervous...sorry if I did. Thanks to everyone for making me feel a little better. Hope match goes well for all.
🙂
