I swear, sometimes the names of what you have to memorize were intentionally made complicated and long so the scientists could seem smart and impress the chicks?

When was the last time you saw a supermodel in the arms of an egghead scientist? The chicks go for the bad boy rock stars. You're in the wrong line of business, my friend. 😎

There is a concerted conspiracy against people with speech impediments.

I agree....I have worked with some equipment with complicated names, ie vapor sorption analyzer....it is just a glorified microbalance with an RH probe....
then, there is differential scanning calorimetry...all it is is a heater and two thermometers....why all those words? Why not just a box with a heater, and two thermometers?
It seems that they have the most complicated names for some of the most ridiculous things.
