Anyone else with no acceptances? O_o

I'm here too - was kinda sad as I couldn't belong to any club after getting a couple of interviews, but now I have a new home! Thanks!

Thanks david-- I was too lazy to ponder it for long-- as soon as a saw it spelled out I knew that was it. And welcome to the Club. Let's all ditch our memberships ASAP. 🙂

That's how Iowa was for me. I got my Master's at Southern. Go Salukis!

SIU Carbondale? (I don't know if they have anything but the last three years of med school at the Springfield Campus) Either way, what were your impressions of Southern? Anything you could tell me good or bad would be much appreciated.

This looks like a fun club count me in!!!!! I have only had one interview so far and one more to go. I am hoping more schools will like me soon!

Just looked at your stats, I'm sure you'll be hearing from them soon! 👍

And I have to say I'm jealous about Rochester. What did you think of them?

Okay, tomorrow's going to be our day. I can feel it. It's either that or this rash....I'll get back to you... 😀

this thead depresses me. It's so early in the game still. I'd start worrying about no acceptances only if it's January.

Yeah, that's too bad. Springfield doesn't jump to the fromt of my mind when I think of fun. Carbondale is a great college town surround by the beautiful Shawnee National forest and lakes (Devil's Kitchen and Little Grassy lakes). There's even a small lake on campus with a trail around it. It is definite rural town, but I really enjoyed my time there.

I'd start worrying if it's been 6+ weeks since your interview...

Riesling. A nice QMP. From Germany. Maybe two or three bottles. Hey, Two Rivers here in Grand Junction makes a very nice Riesling. We'll have that, too.

Is Two Rivers in Palisades? That name sounds familiar. Mmmmm...reisling...

Two Rivers is in Junction, out on South Broadway towards Fruita. They built a fabulous convention center there, too. There are several out in Palisades, but none have a really nice Reisling.

Great! I'd prefer a rural environment anyhow. The bike trails are also a definite plus.

BTW, since it's now into the next morning, I guess I'll have to take a raincheck on the Riesling with you, Shy and gdbaby. I just watched the first of a 6-part (three night) program on PBS called "Rx for Survival: A Global Health Challenge". You guys should definitely check it out. It's on from 9-11 (central time) the next two days. It would be useful background info for interviews... If they'd ever start inviting me to them, that is.

Yeah, this darn site is making me into such a big whiner!! 😳 Seeing what positions most people are in is making me nervous, and I'm definitely loosing some of my perspective... <Sigh> I should probably stop reading a lot of the threads here-- it's just keeping me tensed up. Here's to trying to relax for the next few days. If you guys stop hearing from me, I'll be drinking my Riesling alone and trying to forget about how things could "always be better". Da** pessimistic attitudes!!! 😡 😕 😳 🙂

Thanks! I haven't been to Rochester yet...it's not until next week. However I have heard a lot of good things about them and the people I have talked to have been really nice.

Hey ID,

When you go
to Chicago
tell them that Jt
and Gd
would love to be
interviewees!

I'll do that! AND, I'll tell them if they want to have the best possible class roster for 2010, they have to accept all of us!

I don't know anything about applying to med school. I applied to a few schools that I thought were good - turns out most of them are very competitive. I wish I had known this. Please don't make fun of me....but if you want to see where i applied and why I am sweatin' it now

thanks for saying that...I know I sound like a whiny baby - I am just clueless about this process... 😕

Yep. I agree with jtank 100%. Don't sweat it yet. Wait until February. Then we'll ALL be sweating together. (Calling all med schools: to save yourselves from an influx of students sweaty and stinky from waiting FOREVER, please accept us now...) 😛

Well you're doing pretty well anyway. Your GPA is very good for an engineering major. And being a Texas resident with your numbers, you would have to do something terrible at your interview not to get in.

If you feel clueless, you might want to pick up a copy of the MSAR, but really, you're kinda past that point now, and you're doing very well.

Count me in on this thread too. I have been lurking around this thread for a while, finally decided to pipe in. I interviewed at Colorado a few weeks back, but they won't send anything out until March!!! I've become a compulsive email checker lately and I feel like I'm really losing it!! Being from CO also, I'll be picking up some Two Rivers Reisling myself tonight (got the rejection letter from Mayo today...liquid courage will get me through it!)

Sorry Stressed, Shy and I haven't even heard from Colorado, but I know that doesn't make you feel any less anxious. Allow me to join the Two Rivers Reisling Club as well! I will go out looking for it at lunch today!

Strssd, you're in Dacono? I used to be with Mt. View Fire (I was their first paramedic!). Then I worked for Northglenn Ambulance for almost 10 years. Dacono sure has grown since I was there last.

Yeah, it's growing fast. I still have a farm field in the back yard though. I think it might be the last one between us and Denver.

p.s. why do the no interviews and no acceptances threads have 0_o in the names???

Because they are hilarious. 😵 ??? :-D I put them in because they're a pretty good emoticon for how the waiting-game limbo feels, and also they make the threads stand out a little more in the pre-allo forum

Im going crazy.

Do you think that schools make distinctions with majors? It is pretty hard to make a 4.0 no matter what your major - do you think they look at that and say - oh, this person was a such-and-such and he made a 4.0, that means more than a 4.0 in some other major?

y'know, every once in a while my inner child comes out during this process and I feel like throwing myself on the ground, kicking and punching the carpet screaming at the top of my lungs about how incredibly unfair the whole thing is. And then I want to eat with my hands, fingerpaint, throw food against the wall to see if it sticks.... and then....

and then....

then I realize a glass of good wine will have to do instead.
*sigh*

yup...i believe they do.

Being caught in the act of chilling on top of a door.

Looks uncomfortable, and it's of the cat's own doing. It just kinda struck a cord with how I've been feeling recently... 😉

Is it too late to join the club? I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired so I'm going to whine. I dreamt that I was invited for one interview and for some reason I didn't prepare for the interview. I tried reading about the school while waiting to speak with the dean. Here's to feeling sorry for yourself (you can't see me but I'm in my apartment getting drunk by myself and making a toast to the computer screen) 😉

I really hope they do. I don't care what anyone says, when you're an engineering major, an A is tough to get. EE, ChemE, and BME have tough/demanding engineering curricula, and my "mediocre" gpa seems low in comparisan but was actually earned with quite a lot of hard work.

It is never too late to join! It's funny - I had a similar dream about Columbia. I got an interview and I was so excited. Then I realized I had already missed the interview date....

I feel the same way. Even though anyone with a 4.0 obviously worked hard, I feel like I worked really hard in engineering and still came out looking mediocre

Just bumping to get the week started!

I have no hope for an acceptance until 12/15 at the earliest. I need more Krispy Kreme donuts to assuage my ensuing wait-induced-depression.

I may be wrong, but I don't think that she was saying that she's accepted.

Bepony,

If you are accepted, where at?? :luck: to all of you all.
