Well congratulations for that, too, and welcome to the club. Hope we can all say "I'm out" soon.

I may be wrong, but I don't think that she was saying that she's accepted.

Bepony,

If you are accepted, where at?? :luck: to all of you all.

I'm sure you'll be saying that soon.

I have no hope for an acceptance until 12/15 at the earliest. I need more Krispy Kreme donuts to assuage my ensuing wait-induced-depression.

You just summed up how I feel in two succinct sentences. 👍 😉

And then yet more donuts to assuage the ensuing weight-induced depression?

Heehee! That was just too fun not to type

ShyRem-

you and I are like two impatient peas in the same pod. 😀 Except...I just go swimming everytime I think about an acceptance...I'm surprised I haven't turned into a fish yet b/c the pool is now my home.
I've been running and biking everytime I think about an acceptance. Now I am a no-acceptanced-blistered-back pained-road rashed-IT Band strained-applicant. I a moving to the donuts.

I have IT band problems, too. Such a pain...

Nothing a Dunkin' Donuts coffee can't fix. Of wait, damn, we don't have Dunkin' Donuts in Denver. That's right folks--if you are applying to CU and you come from a city where there are more Dunkin' Donuts than Starbucks (Boston, Chicago) we do not have Dunkin' Donuts in Denver! You should probably withdraw your application! 😉

Do you mind if I quote you for NEXT YEAR's AMCAS app? Under EC activities I will put "bustin' out some block bustin' humor to fellow pre-meds." Then I will place your quote--you know, for authenticity.

It would be nice to put things on your application like that. You should be able to put: I am funny, I am nice, I don't take myself too seriously, my mom says I am good at everything, etc. Because, in actuality, these are the things that can differentiate a good doctor from a great doctor.

I love all of you guys here!
I feel so much better reading this thread on SDN. I'm hoping we end up at the same spot... although that might be bad.... they might have to expel us for having too much fun!
Seriously, though. You guys are a bright spot on the occasional dark day.
Thanks!

Maybe Harvard will accept me if I explain my psychological need to have a ready supply of donuts

YES! Make sure it borbers on neuroses--like you HAVE to have the strawberry frosted, day-glo pink donuts!

thanks for the welcome, guys!

I am going to try to exaggerate all of my neuroses at interviews. You know - to play the sympathy angle. 😉

You know a lot of high powered academics share the same flaws. So, I could talk about a struggle with an eating disorder, and the women interviewing me would be nodding along or being OCD and I think most former pre-meds would be deeply sympathetic. However, I'm avoid exaggerating my neuroses and trying to play the angle that I'm "cool and fun" and will bring balance to the TRULY neurotic students like you

Damn you crack me up. I am planning on writing a strongly worded letter to the USPS since my mail does not come until 5:30 pm! I mean really!

PS--Love Jay-Z!! Maybe we can do a duet of "Renegade." I'll be Eminem

I'm definitely still in here too... 4 interviews = 4 waitlists... Darnit, these medical schools all think in the same way 🙂 I can't complain with a 26 on my MCAT though... Good luck everyone...

Wow Super, when I have to redo this next year (sniff, sniff) I am going to apply to your schools! That's great!

This sort of sounds like my day-to-day living algorithm. It goes something like this:

1.) Constantly check SDN and e-mail all day,
2.) Check snail mail and cell phone for messages,
3.) If no acceptance (or interview invite), go back to Step (1.)

Currently, I'm stuck in an endless loop

Actually I'm not really *that* bad, but still... I think I'd be much more productive if I weren't feeling so helpless 😳

Uhhh so a couple hours ago I got a call from my parents... and uhh, well it looks like I'm off this thread 😳

Wow at this rate I should start a thread called "Anyone else with no winning lottery tickets? 😵" then go buy some for the VA Mega-millions

Anyway, in case any of you are wondering the thick packet came from Drexel today 🙂 When my parents called to tell me I was rather non-chalant (was busy on the comp.), but for the past few hours it started to sink in and I've had a perma-grin on my face 😀

I 😍 you all! Can't wait to see you all get off this thread too! 🙂

So, still on this thread and can I just say...a rejection before an acceptance is no fun at all. I am on my personal pity potty today, just wanted to vent. On the plus side, I have an interview at Case. On the minus side, this process is getting pricey. I'm starting to worry that I won't ever get in, and I won't be able to afford to do this process again. what then?? 😕

Don't start worrying yet. Your profile looks good. I'm sure you will get in.

Yeah, just was having one of those days I guess.

But really, what kind of back up plans do you guys have? If you don't get in, will you just keep on reapplying?

Congrats Crazy! Great news! Now stay off our thread!

i'm on this thread... been avoiding it like the plague for a while.

But nonetheless, here I am.

5 interview invites thus far, and I've only been to one:

1: Penn State (done)
2: Drexel
3: NYMC
4: SLU
5: CCLCM

I figure 5 chances to get into med school... I hope 1 works out!!!

Congrats bro. I had a really good experience at Drexel and hope I get in.

crazy cav, great news! good luck to you! now, how about that mdapplicants link 👍

gdbaby, good to see another jay-z fan out there!

I've been offered 6 interviews and have attended 5. I haven't heard back from any of the schools that have interviewed me. I think threads like this might increase our anxiety! I hate waiting 👎

Look at it this way. you are almost done. One acceptance and you won't care anymore. they can come or not, it no longer matters.

you are almost done bro. with 6 interviews, you are bound to get in somewhere, right?
