Madonna, what Madonna song would epitomize your feelings right now? I would think if a school were to inform you of an interview today it would be "Lucky Star." But perhaps right now it's "Live to tell."

In High School, I once walked right into a stop sign infront of this guy I totally had a crush on. He was on the bus and I was trying to wave to him. So, yeah, the whole bus saw. Does that help?

Hey, GD...lol...the diary story wasn't bad. But I love the walking into a stop sign story though. I have the same trouble sometimes. I found out in the most embarassing ways that I can not strut.

Rayhan, my husband thinks I am having an affair. There I was all sloppy drunk on Friday, watching Curb your Enthusiasm, and talking about how important it was that I get Rayhan an interview. Could I fake a LOR? Could I make a call on his behalf (after all I am a professor, not one that would help anybody, but they don't have to know that)?

He just looked at me and chalked it up to the 90 Schilling.

I just don't get how I could possibly be at the bottom of every school's review pile... I applied to 27 schools, most complete in August and September, and have only heard one thing so far: a Vanderbilt rejection. I guess I appreciate them all not rejecting me flat out at the beginning, but... a little love wouldn't hurt either.

I also finally got around to buying a video game and have started rotting my brain playing it. Since this thread really shouldn't be about people talking about having no interviews, I will jump on the video game kick. I can't play any of the new ones. The last video game I played was Super Mario Brothers at my friend's house my jr year of high school.

So imagine how excited I was when I saw that Bed Bath and Beyond was selling and Intelevision mini-pack of their top sellers: Baseball, Space Invaders, Hockey and one other one I don't remember. You just plug it into the TV and go.

That Bed Bath and Beyond sure sells a lot of "Beyond."

I got San Andreas...it's not bad considering this is my first exposure to the GTA genre. The graphics are good and the ability to do whatever and raise hell is refreshing. I also got Simpsons Hit and Run and True Crimes Streets of NY. And out of all of them the Simpsons is the best game, in my opinion.

Really? GTA is the only video game I've ever liked, with the exception of Sega Genesis' James Pond II, in which you are a lobster (?) running around a candy land.

It's at UNM, yes right below you in CO. And I don't want to go there. I worked in a lab there for 3 years and I've watched their rankings drop from #2 a few years ago to 27th this year. Now, I'm not a rankings ***** (I can't afford to be with my stats!) but the school hasn't done anything to improve in a long time - curriculum, facilities, recruiting better faculty.... And I'm tired of living in Albuquerque. 21 out of 25 years in one place ain't easy.
Oh, and they interview everyone who applies. I got an invite without submitting a 2º, without MCAT scores (and without a 2º fee, I can't complain about that)... I already delayed it once, initially they wanted to schedule it in early Oct., well before my scores arrived.

I am trying to avoid writing a lecture on globalization. I cannot avoid it any longer as the class is today at 1 pm!

But I am also trying to be funny to mask the frustration I feel about Colorado. Desired, maybe you should just go to the interview for the practice.

Seriously, Desired, I don't want to sound like an overbearing asshat but you must go to that interview. You have posted good reasons but come on, you have gots to go man. Things that get me giddy as a schoolgirl:
(a) You've got mail - I am positively ecstatic when I see a number other than zero next to my little AOL mailbox icon, be it spam or otherwise. If it's a spam advertising a 12 inch penis, I say why not, it'll be a good converation starter.
(b) Junk mail - "you have been pre-approved" or "you may have won a million dollars"...pop open the champagne, 'cause it's about damn time.
(c) Telemarketing calls: Do I want a satellite dish or change my phone provider, why the hell not....change is good.
(d) Popups - let's make a game of it too see how many I can eliminate in an hour and try to beat that record.
