This **** sucks. If I was just taking classes, I'm fairly certain that I would be able to be in the A range *coping* for all of my classes and labs right now. Sadly now I'm stuck in the B range and my chances of getting A's shrinks every day since December is quickly approaching. Sigh. I'm just POOPED after work and on some days I have 5am shifts that absolutely destroy me.

I've worked nearly full time for my undergrad between two jobs so I know how much it sucks. BUT, if you do well on the DAT and have at least an average GPA, you'll have a great shot. In my interviews, a lot of them brought up my jobs which led to the discussion about my GPA. It sucks, I know but you can do it bro.

I have the same dilemma. I'm a career changer (teacher) and I take 8-10 hours of science classes after work. I talked to schools of interest, and they say that I need to obtain the average but earn the highest GPA possible.

It's like they give you such general advice as if you're like everyone else. I guess what matters is if you shine on the DAT and put together the best app possible.

It's disconcerting to hear them rush you consultations they offer via phone, but I guess that's all you can get over the phone.

Anyway, study hard!

Well i'm currently taking 17 hrs (best final semester ever, huh?) and work about 15 hrs a week on campus. I've had to sacrifice most if not all my weekends and my upcoming thanksgiving break is going to studying and lab reports. Life sucks sometimes but it will all be worth it and the end. Just remember keep your health and make time for whats important.

I've been working between 25-40 hours a week depending on semester. Not always fun and can be pretty stressful. It hurts your social life too (I need sleep). I try to make up for during breaks and summer and winter vacation. Cut down hours if you feel overloaded though there is no need to jeopardize your chances over a few extra dollars.

I remember one pre-dent telling me "you have to treat dental school like it's your full-time job," my response: "lol, just one?" Dental schools do recognize that your grades will be lower when you work full-time during school. Use it to your advantage to show that you can do just as well as your peers while also dealing with the real world.

I work 40 hrs a week, taking full time courses, married and have a 2 year old! trust me it could be worse!! I feel your pain and I have no other choice but to work as the loss of my income would hurt my family at this time.

I worked night-shift on the weekends and all of the holiday breaks during my undergraduate years. I feel your pain, but it's still possible to do well. I Graduated with a 3.3 cum in Biology, interviewed at 2 schools and accepted to one for the upcoming cycle. If I can do it, so can you... just hang in there and put the time in. Good luck.
