Hi all,
Just wanted to share an important lesson I learn today. I sent out my apps to Pharmcas and UOP sups with my LOR to make sure that my application fell into the 2nd tier. Today, I checked on line for my status at UOP and to my horror saw that I was missing a LOR. Frantic, I called them because I know I personally sent in my boss's LOR and a pharmacist. They said I was missing a LOR from my school. I said I am a full time employee for over 6 years and am only currently taking one class at nite at a local city college. She said you are enrolled in school. We need a LOR from your school. Instead of reading a letter from my boss whom I worked closely with for 2 years they want a letter from a teacher who barely knows me to attest to my skills?!! So even if I were to quickly get a LOR from my teacher, I passed the deadline for the second tier. I am really disappointed with myself b/c UOP is my first choice and I have only myself to blame for procrastinating. Had I turned in my apps during the first tier, I would've found out earlier that I was missing a LOR and have that turned in my the 2nd tier. So my question is, do anyone know of anyone that got accepted to UOP from the 3rd tier. My gpa is 3.4, worked 2 years as a medical assistant, 2 years in a lab, 2 years (currently) as a bioinformatics (making tools for high throughput data). Is there any chance left for me? 🙁

Hey there,
Your GPA is strong. Don't worry too much on what tier you're in. The rolling admission is long. So, hang in there. I'm applying for UOP as well as early as Pharmcas opened back in July. My application is complete, but i have no idea what tier i'm in, either first or second. How do you check your file and know what tier you're in. Thanks. Good luck to you.

Hi,

If you look at UOP admission website for deadlines, it'll show you the dates. Once you turned in your sup apps to UOP, UOP will send you a letter telling you they have recieved your application and they will give you an id #. You can then log on to their website to see what you are missing. If you are not missing anything, then it will say File Complete Date. That date determines which tier you are in.
I hope I still have a chance. Thanks for your encouragement. Where else are you applying to?

Yuki, i think you'll be okay, just turn in your lor asap. good luck! 👍

If you are a 3rd tier, you chances of getting an interview is very slim. I highly doubt you'll get an interview at all. Applications are expected to go up once again. They might not even have the time to review your file!!!

I submitted my application in time for the Tier 2 deadline. When do u think UOP will interview Tier 2 applicants? I know they are interviewing Tier 1 people now, and I really hope that I can score an interview before the end of the year.

yeah i just made it to the second tier deadline too. God i hope they didn't dump my app away! :scared:

AHHHHHHH! I submitted my supplemental application via postal mail on Oct. 1 but on the website it says i submitted it Oct.4. That means I missed Tier 2 deadline! boo! I think it's when they receive it rather than when the application was postmarked unlike some schools. I really hope I get an interview. I mean it is 2 months before Dec. 1 the ontime deadline right? Did anyone get an interview to UOP yet and if so do you mind sharing when you turn in your apps?

Thanks! 🙁

Hi, i applied last year and had it postmarked on the last date that you could possibly turn it in. My friend also did the same thing and we got interviews. We also got accepted but declined and we're now at WSU instead. 😀

So don't worry too much and good luck!
